I just logged onto ebucks and had a look at last months rewards. Seems like I should be in Checkers a lot more than I am and I'd get even more...

If I am on level 5 with my debit card, I certainly won't change.

I use my cr. Card only because I'm on level 5 there.

As to changes in October, I don't know. But I asked my guy at the Pretoria suite to check and advise if I need to make changes.

On trick I learnt with Woolies is to buy on your Woolies account. Then at month end go there and pay off your account using your credit card. You csn do this at many clothing shops.

The principal here is to bolster your credit card spend.

Please see aforementioned warning. Do this only if you are meticulously diligent with your finances.

I do this already with my Discovery card. Lots of cash back from Woolies :D

Buy stuff online every month
Draw more money from cash@till than from ATM
Buy airtime using Fnb app

I need to work on this. I am on level 3, I think, and have no idea why or how to improve this.

That said, the missus and I use the credit card for fuel. Try to use it for most things as opposed to carrying cash with me. Tonight I ordered an egg boiler using eB off Takealot. The last one packed in. So really find earning eB a great way to reduce costs elsewhere.

I don't fully understand the whole ebucks thing and have no real idea why I'm on level 5. We do make certain efforts to buy fuel at Engen and shop at Checkers though :)

No need to fill up at Engen as you earn the same from all petrol stations. You can USE your ebucks card to pay for fuel at Engen though.

Tip: pay your municipal and Telkom bills at supermarkets with your card rather than paying online or via debit order.

Thanks. What I thought. Been fuelling up at a Total which gives small reduction on diesel on weekends. Would not have been keen to go elsewhere.

Buy a smart device from FNB, pay over the 24 months interest free. You will gets ebucks points for this Then purchase R1500 of whatever on your credit card every month (which I used to do anyway),and they will pay you back R50 for your smart device back. So your cost for device is actually : Cost - R1200 over the 2 years

So my Nexus 7 32gb WiFi + 3g will actually cost me R2900 paid over 2 years, purchased at a time when the device in US was about the same price

Pay your Dstv and other debits via your card rather than EFT/direct debit. So my virgin active and dstv bills earn ebucks instead of just being bank debits. Thus happens automatically every month, so it is as easy as a direct debit

Hmmm, I have a smart device on my account but don't seem to have any bucks listed or discount applied. Need to find out what's cooking there.

It will look something like this. For me it gets credited into my cheque account

Cheers, just had a search and couldn't see anything on the website or reflecting in my monthly statement either. So I've just fired off an email so I'll see how that goes. Thanks for the heads up though :)

another gem that I did not know about.

I see my Watchdogs PS4 game coming up next month .... :)

@sdd, the reason I prefer to have my cheque card on level5 instead of the CC, which is on level4, with the cheque card (if you not on private client), you also get 4Mbps uncapped ADSL for free which I use as my default internet account at home. That saves me a bucket of money each month, which makes having stuff like a cheap tablet worth it. Also get 500MB per month three on the tablet because of reward level 5 on the cheque account. And I went for the cheapest tablet, the Nexus 7 at R149/month.

You must have loans or insurance products through RMB/FNB. I don't think you can reach level 5 without those
