Tips to Boost your eBucks

I'm on level 1 and need to get to 2 (I qualify in terms of points etc, it just seems my only option is to take another product)...

To move to the next eBucks discount level, you need to:

Apply for an FNB Home Loan, and meet criteria
or
Apply for an FNB Personal Loan, and meet criteria
or
Apply for an FNB Fixed Deposit account, and meet criteria

Now lets say I take the fixed deposit or the personal loan for a small amount. Do I lose the ebucks level benefit when the loan or fixed deposit finishes?

Thanks,

How is that possible? Thought there was a monthly cap on eB?

With the cheque card, the limit on Shoprite & Checkers is eB10 000.
On your regular purchases it is eB5 000.
Fuel is eB6 250
Electricity is eB1 100
So it is easily possible. You just have to be willing to shop at Shoprite & Checkers :)
Any idea how much does one need to spend in shoprite & checkers to get eB10 000? Is it something like 6500 Rands?

It depends on your earn rate (What level you are on, which depends on your points). Maximum earn rate is 15% (Level 5)

That is not close to being you're only option yet. Easiest way is to spend more. That should get you up to level 3 or 4 depending on your spend

The rules are way too complicated...LOL! I'm on level 1 and can't really see how to get to the next level. Is it better to use a credit card than debit card for shopping?

When I click the how to go up a level thing, that's what it says...

It lies.
Basically your earn rate is dictated by your level. Your level is dictated by your points.
Points are earned by various means. Some are earned by holding certain products, some for certain behaviours, and others by the amount you spend.
There are lots of options - https://www.fnb.co.za/rewards/earn/fnb-cheque-accounts-qualifying-criteria.html

One other thing to remember is that it uses a rolling 12 month average to work out your points level

Am on level 4 on my cheque card. Only realised i can get to the next level by adding a savings pocket account recently. I will need 3 months to get to the required points for level 5. I hope the new rules doesn't change drastically

One thing to watch out for is that the interest rate on the Savings Pocket is basically 0%. Don't put too much money into it

You have the wrong card then.

As far as I am aware, that is for all FNB Cheque Accounts.
RMB works differently.

What is the maximum points you can earn with your cheque account for shopping?

Your list included "Active Tablet, Smartphone or Laptop contract" which is a loan.

Without that you have 1300 points a month, which will make you Level 3.

I also miss out on 300 points for the Cash@Till™ because I almost never go to Pick n Pay

Just having a credit card just for the sake of increasing ebuck points dont make sense. There are annual fees and other admin fees involved with a credit card. Besides the devil will always tempt you when a credit card is involved.

Such a minimum balance is also a luxury that few could afford. It would benefit most people to rather keep the R2000 on your bond or your car finance as extra payment and your interest savings could far exceed your ebuck gains depending on the capital balance and term/month of your loan offcourse.
