Hi Guys,
With the new changes coming in October, I thought it prudent for us to share proven ways to boost ebucks earn.
So what works for me is this:
Just so that you know ... I am on level 5 and qualify for a 40% discount. I clear my credit card in full each month as I do not believe in living on credit but value the worth of a good credit rating.
1) I use my ebucks to buy virtual vouchers from Makro. Then I buy the stuff that I need when it goes on special. Usually these are discretionary items like PS4 or Xbox games. Or coffee. (Can someone tell me why its gone so expensive lately, WTF!!!)
2) That FNB saving pocket account is one means of jumping up the tier. I only use it for that purpose.
3) I buy household essentials only from Checkers. Not only have I found it to be cheaper but the kick back from ebucks is awesome. I bought a PS4 game from the kick back last month from makro as well as world cup stuff to donate to a charity.
I will post more in separate post. Gotta run for a meeting.
Cheers,

Does anyone know what changes are coming in October?

Level 5. No loans or insurance. Good understanding of rules.
Really?
To get 300 points, you need a overdraft, revolving loan or temporary loan
A further 100 points for Tablet, Smartphone or Laptop contract
And each insurance product is 100 points
Didn't realise you can reach 18 500 points per month without those.
Are you sure you aren't including your Join Bonus? (Which is once off and temporary)
If you get one of those smart deals from FNB but you get something like a tv, would you still qualify for the smart device bonus? Just asking to make sure it's not just for the smartphones, laptops and tablets.

I am in the similar situation. I dont have any short term loans. I cant see how i can get past reward level 2. Seems like i need to open a FNB one account to get to the next level.
I have what they call a 'revolving loan' on my profile. Basically it shows in my account as a pre-approved amount available if I need it. Maybe it's this?
They're not really smart deals, they are personal loans with a directed use![]()
So in other words I'd still get the bonus ebucks points?
I wouldn't do it only for the ebucks but if you need a smart device anyway it's better than going on contract isn't it? IIRC if you work out the total cost of the loan it's pretty much a no interest loan.
Tip: pay your municipal and Telkom bills at supermarkets with your card rather than paying online or via debit order.

I read somewhere this doesn't work - I'll try get a link. I see to remember Easypay was excluded
EDIT : Wonder if they removed it or if I'm not looking? I only see these rules :
Qualifying purchases - on which you earn eBucks - exclude EFTs, debit orders, cash withdrawals, travellers' cheques, foreign exchange transactions and casino gambling transactions.
You don't earn eBucks on joint accounts and FNB Money Market Transactor.
