Tips to Boost your eBucks

So 15% of R6k is a lot more than 25% of R400.

EDIT: The nice thing about Discovery is that, compared to FNB, you actually don't need to invest any money to get the benefits. Whereas, with FNB, your reward level is based on how much money you spend with the bank every month. Its therefore easier to hit a higher reward level with Discovery than it is with FNB.
Taking the calc further, 15% of 6k is 9000 eBucks / R900. Use that eB9000 in eBucks store at 40% discount (level 5) increases the value to eB15,000 which is an increase of 66.6%. Therefore the original 15% off is increased to essentially 25%. :D You can thank me later :p

Your maths is funny.
15k at 40 percent off gives 9k

PrivateClient hoops...
Do all your payments and transfers during the month via Online Banking, CellPhone Banking or the FNB Banking App (excluding lotto purchases, data and prepaid airtime and prepaid electricity)

What does this actually mean?
Could you still make your Telkom / Rates payment at Pick 'n Pay?

It may refer to not using a branch for any payments. Paying your Telkom at Pick n Pay would count as a point of sale transaction - I think it would be exempt.

I am paying my Telkom account on the website. Considering the ebucks earn rate will be higher with online payments from October I think that probably still stay the best way to pay it, or consider a debit order...tho I refuse.

I think it will be even higher if you switch to paying with your card at a Checkers - up to 15%. Much higher than 4%.

Would account payments be seen as a Checkers purchase transaction (i.e. 15% back in eBucks) or as a normal swipe transaction? I know for example that you do not earn eBucks on Checkers cash@till transactions.

I think so - someone was saying that they moved all of their accounts to credit card payments for precisely that reason.

Thanks for the input mense.
Payments at checkers will count as a normal swipe, yo will not earn 15% for paying bills at Checkers.

I just thought about it again, all the forumites coming down hard on front line staff, technically you received info at source from some folks with knowledge, the info hasn't reached them as yet. So you have to give them slack.

@iDOL - the moment, we the client receive new rules (in the public domain), I expect the call centre staff to have been sufficiently educated on the changes.

That's why being helpful and passing on some inside information it seems is not healthy for the relationship. Duly noted.

I am not referring to 'you' providing 'earlier' info, but updates to fnb/ebucks site.

I think iDOL is correct in this. He is giving us information in advance for stuff that has not filtered down fully to the call centre staff, and so his request to take it easy on the call centre staff at this stage is fair

I disagree, when the websites have been updated with the new rules, I expect the call centre agents to be sufficiently versed.

I agree.

It is a large company and this is a large change. When they roll out the change, why would they not do training beforehand?

For some reason, understanding of FNB's own rules never filters down to the staff on the ground. 3 out of 4 times when i get info from FNB staff that info is incorrect.

Money Market transactions at Checkers (which is where you must pay bills) are excluded from eBucks earn
