Pics not showingHere's what i noticed immediately when looking at the new rules...
We'll earn significantly less on swipes, even if we use a credit card.
So the guys here that swipe for R20k on level 5 are getting:
R20k x 0.025 = eB5000
x by 12 = eB60k in a year
Now you get eB36k
That's a big sadface

Yup , fixednow?
Some years ago, a friend at work said to me (in reference to the Vitality program) "Those guys have the best actuaries in there, mapping this whole model and making sure they always come out on top".if there a few thousand other people on level 5, the bank just cannot afford it anymore

That is a stupid amount to be giving away every month, and if there a few thousand other people on level 5, the bank just cannot afford it anymore
Yup , fixed
Edit: I was talking to my wife about this today, cause we getting new cards. I seriously think that as it stands the eBucks Program is bad for the bank.
So although a lot people are happy it has gone month to month, the bank has used that as an excuse to try and reduce their payouts. I mean, I just got notice right now that I earned 13000+ eBucks for August.
With that, plus 40% off discount vouchers I can buy R2200 from Makro,Edgar's, builders warehouse, sportsman's warehouse, checkers, Kalahari and many other venders. Deduct my banking fee of let's say R200 and that's R2000 spending money for 1 month!

It looks like they've decided it benefits them more to favour credit card users. The increase for using a credit card is big. Here's what i noticed immediately when looking at the new rules...

I created an excel ebucks plat/gold calculator for whoever is keen to use. You just need to enter '1' for whatever you qualify for.

Credit card on new rules vs Cheque card on new rules, yes.The increase for using a credit card is big.
Credit card on new rules earns more than it did on the old rules. It's a much higher percentage and they've raised the earning cap.Credit card on new rules vs Cheque card on new rules, yes.
New rules vs old rules ... no
Sorry, to clarify what i was saying:Credit card on new rules earns more than it did on the old rules. It's a much higher percentage and they've raised the earning cap.

Its a copy and paste from their PDF. I might have shorten some descriptions but you should tell what is covered. Savings pocket is there, not sure if fluid account was ever a criteria?Sorry, to clarify what i was saying:
credit card on new rules < cheque card on old rules
Super spreadsheet!
So you've covered are ALL the reward level criteria?
There's nothing more that can earn us RL points?
Fluid Account? Keeping money in your savings pocket?
I don't have an FNB credit card (stuck with VirginMoney cos of the zero cost) but if FNB is pushing us towards using a credit card, then I have questions...
- If I setup my debit orders to come off my credit card, it should count as "eBucks-able" transactions right? (i.e. it counts towards to 10-90%, as well as earn eBucks for the transaction) ...and while we're on that, is there any chance a bank will allow bond payments to go off a credit card?
- Also, are you able to create "scheduled payments" and “once off payments” from an FNB Credit Card, and will this count as "eBucks-able" transactions (as explained above)?
