Tips to Boost your eBucks

My fnbconnect account has not been performing like it should over the last week or three. Had to fork out some money for an alternative for the first time in months.
That happens I guess. Though in my case my physical line or DSLAM might be the issue :(

They spend for two people, extra ccard IIRC... Dual income couples i think :)

This.

Received eB20k this month. Wife and I only use my cc. I have a linked card for her. When she gets paid, she transfers an amount to me every month to cover the following month's expenses. All debit orders come off my cheque account and all card swipes comes off my cc account using the two linked cards.

I was hoping to get a 2nd cc on my account for my gf for her to swipe, but I phoned fnb and ebucks are only awarded on the primary cc, not any additional cc's.

No. My wife does all the shopping on her additional card and the ebucks roll in.

Hmm. Maybe I should phone again and speak to a different person. But if you say it works then that's exciting news for me!

Order the card online. Not exactly sure where you need to click but i know there is an option to order an additional card via online banking.

Edit: You can also set specific limits for that card only in terms of swipe limits.

Thanks will look today. And must the additional card been signed by the person that will be using it?

Yes. You can specify the name that must be on the card so her name will be there. I used to have an additional card on my cheque card but they could not make the card out to my wife. She had issues at some retailers as my name was on the card. With the additional cc card we do not have the issue. The card can be delivered direct to her or she can collect it at the bank herself as the letter that contains the card is addressed to the name on the card.

Do you already have the item? If not ask Takealot to cancel the order (because you forgot) and reorder, I have done it a few times

Yes I got it. I looked at my ebucks and said where I my takealot.

It was a mission to ask can it be allocated afterwards, but ebucks and takealot said no. A big lesson.

I'm on RL5 and earn up to 10k ebucks only.
I think the reason for that is quite simple though...

I'm on the premier bundle which has lower caps than PW for instance?
Also caps on things like checkers spend is a percentage of your total spend.
Earn less > spend less > lower cap?

I must be missing something. If you used your FNB card, you will earn ebucks on the online shopping. It just won't be listed as a separate line item on your ebucks statement for eg: "allocation for takealot". Not so?

So at what exact spend does the Private option become more feasible than Premium/Platinum?

This is where I think I lose out. I don't keep a track of total spend and calculate optimum Checkers spend for example. Maybe I should develop a spreadsheet that calculates everything for me and shows me exactly where to maximum earnings by watching how much and where I spend at what time of the month.
