Tips to Boost your eBucks

Hi guys

anybody know if there is a way to pay Ekurhuleni municipal accounts via credit card(for ebucks earning now). There is an Easypay mention under the payment methods on the invoice, but no Easypay number :/

EFT transfers seems to be the only way, but then no ebucks is earned :(

pay your account at pick n pay/checkers/etc.

I stopped paying my muni and telkom accounts at checkers as you only earn 2.5% in eBucks on level 5 on private clients. I now use the easy pay website and the earn is 5% for online shopping with no upper earn limits.

assuming you mean the money market/computicket counter? or will the till suffice?

any till will suffice, but the others shoppers in the queue behind may not like it :)

this is probably a better idea, but I am not sure I trust the easy pay website as I got it in my head that they had security breaches before, or am I mistaking them for someone else??

yeah I also pay my muni and telkom accounts online for higher ebucks earn. Its also more convenient.

@Neo_X
For Ekurhuleni why don't you try https://www.e-siyakhokha.co.za/Ekurhuleni/Services ?

because of this(FAQ) :
Can I use my credit card to make payments via the e-Siyakhokha service?

No, the e-Siyakhokha service will only accept payments from bank accounts.

i will try and give them a call to see if an easy pay reference is available, or else checkers is the only remaining option.

Anyone noticed that the Builder's Warehouse ebucks Gift Vouchers have disappeared from the store? I was saving up enough to buy lots of these vouchers and get the 40% discount.

It happens with other vouchers too, like Tafelberg. This is the physical vouchers.

I made a complaint about it to FNB/Ebucks, and the response was, that they were out of stock and that they didn't know when it would be back in stock.

Thus I assume, when they are out of stock of the physical cards for the vouchers, they take it away from the shop.

Or they bought a bunch of vouchers and negotiated a great discount and now those are done and they need to renegotiate?

Paying my telkom bill on their website using CC or via easypay. No difference right ? Both give me the same % ?

I bought physical iStore vouchers a few weeks ago. Got them all in R100 vouchers (the iStore employees were chuckling at the poor guy who had to redeem them all). A week later I checked out of curiosity and they then had a R1000 voucher option. So I'm guessing I got the last bit of whatever stock they had and they restocked right after and perhaps some partners sell better so they restock them quickly, whereas they might just not bother with others.

What really bugs me is when a seller can't tell you if or when they will get stock of something. Is there some monthly meeting where they throw darts while drunk to decide what to sell?

Found another good comparison between Checkers and 'other' today.

Nescafe Alta Rica, 100g.

Checkers, a week or two ago: R86.99
Woolworths, today: R75.95 (on special, normally R85.95, so 12.69% cheaper than Checkers for this week)

Using all the crazy I can muster from my previous posts, assuming conversion to vouchers at 40% discount, that's:
Checkers: R65.24
Woolworths: R73.42

I just realised I can complicate this even more, but I'm getting too far from my comfort zone now. Suffice it to say that even if you were to invest the immediate difference for a year and take inflation into account, the apparently more expensive Checkers price is still better. I think.

For checkers its better to pay with your card to earn rather than spend on Ebucks vouchers there

Never buy vouchers for Checkers. Basically, the 15% return on ebucks works out to 25% when you calculate the voucher value.

R100 spend, 15 ebucks gained. 15 ebucks can be used to buy R25 worth of vouchers. So works out to 25% exactly. You can use this to simplify price comparisons

^^ yes, we had this debate a few pages back but I think you got your point across better than I did :p

If with Discovery Vitality and the item is a healthy food then 25% discount applies at PnP and/or WW.

Hey all, Ive had ebucks for a while but am only realising now i could have been earning on many purchases....

If i were to purchase a game on kalahari for R600 and use R350 worth of vouchers (ie. 250 tablet voucher + bos100), would I earn ebucks on R600 or earn ebucks only on the R250 that im paying with my c-card?

Also does one have to use an ebucks linked credit card to make the payment or can i punch in my ID to earn ebucks even if I do an eft with another bank?

EBucks are earned only on the actual amount paid.

You get 2% from Kalahari by entering your ID. This is separate and added to the x% you can get from using your card to pay directly
