Uh FNB is pretty clear in their rules, that transactions at the checkers money market where you pay bills ect does not qualify as checkers spend. You should go read the ebucks rules again.

It's only worth the effort if it's gonna qualify as Checkers spend and not a normal swipe.
Otherwise the convenience of a debit order outweighs the R9 I'll earn in eBucks.
Online is an option, but only if I sign up for a credit card.
I'll earn up to R18 for online Telkom payments, but the monthly fee for a credit card is a fair bit more than that.
Credit card fees =
R25 (card fee)
+ R7.50 (credit facility fee)
+ R200/12 (linking fee for eBucks)
= roughly R50/month, or eB500
So I'll need to prove (to myself) that I can earn at least an extra eB500/month to go through the trouble, cos I really have no need whatsoever for a credit card.
...like I mentioned before, this is the FNB eBucks model trying to make me bank in a drastically different way, after me having already complied with their previous guidance on how to bank
yes swipe that credit card, i don't swipe my cheque card atm.
What a switch for them to make. Made everybody only use their debit cards, now back to using only the credit card.
And now i also need to pay R200 to have the credit card linked![]()
+1. Might I add, the value of swiping credit card is not in the 2 to 4% u get back in eBucks. The value is in increasing the total amount spent on credit card to cash in on eBucks awarded for fuel spend. Assuming they have not changed it, you are limited to eBucks awarded on fuel spend at a rate of 20% of total credit card spend.Uh FNB is pretty clear in their rules, that transactions at the checkers money market where you pay bills ect does not qualify as checkers spend. Gold still has the linking feesThere is no linkage to ebucks anymore its free if you have platinum cheque and credit card account.
01 - If you make sure to pay off the credit card every month, it will actually improve your score. Your credit score is based on the fact that you pay all our accounts, and credit cards, and credit facilities every single month, and not skipping a month here and there.- calling all credit score gurus -
01 - now that majority of my monthly spend is channelled through a credit card, would I be negatively impacted?
02 - I was initially given a credit limit, which I asked them to effectively halve, but from a % consumption perspective, it has doubled - will my score take a hit?
thanks in advance!
So when is this new rewards going to show up on FNBs online banking system? I thought they stated in the email it was from 1 October. Are they delaying the huge backlash that they will be getting?
So far from the responses I am seeing on this thread, they don't really care too much about backlash. Are they delaying the huge backlash that they will be getting?
The newest changes from FNB drives people to earn more ebucks by using their credit cards....I don't buy that. That spells disaster.
The explanation is simple. The SARB regulates the interchange fees that banks may charge on card transactions. These fees are higher for credit cards than for debit cards.

So just to confirm... I'm not going to pay anything extra buying fuel on my CC? No interest from day one etc?
