Here's a good reason to use your credit card more, extended warranty on goods purchased with your Visa credit card. http://visacemea.com/wv/platinum/vpp/warranty.jsp
About Extended warranty

When you buy quality, you expect it to last. That's why we automatically double the original manufacturer's warranty up to 24months from the date the item is purchased. You don't even need to register the purchase with us, no matter whether it's for your own use or bought as a gift. Then if the retailer or manufacturer won't repair or replace your purchase, just give us a call.

Cover up to $ 1500 per item, $5,000 per incident and $20,000 per year maximum
Boats, motorised vehicles, land or buildings, consumables, perishables or services are not covered

Your payout is also subject to any other applicable policies or indemnities you may have. If other guarantees are in place, protection is limited only to the amounts not protected and up to the original purchase price. In no event will this cover guarantee apply as contributing protection. This protection is in excess of all other valid and collectable clauses found in other guarantee or indemnity language.

Please refer to the terms and conditions or contact your issuer for the full program terms and conditions and specific coverage levels.

The FNB Platinum cheque account web page sent me there.

I read (quickly) through the T&Cs in that VISA link and, besides the "excess of US$50 or the equivalent value in ZAR, applying to each and every item", there's too many exclusions for this to be of obvious benefit for me if I think about all my card purchases.

The "What Is Not Covered" list means you're not covered on "2. Non-electrical items", but then also won't cover you on e.g. "5. Mobile telephones" and "8. Communication and computing items also described such as desktop PCs, laptops, monitors, photocopiers, fax machines, scanners, game consoles, modems, notebooks, tablets and iPads". There's also various exclusion terms which mean you're not covered in the case where you might want to import from overseas at a cheaper price than paying the higher local prices.

So at the end of it all, I'm not sure how much benefit there really is to this?

Well, i'm planning on downgrading my Afrihost 100GB account to a 20GB account to then take up FNB's uncapped offering next month. on RL5 it will be free, but I wonder will this reflect on the 1st of Nov?

^^ Thanks, that's awesome for the guys who didn't want to take up the smart device deals due to the requirement of changing pricing plans! Nothing I want from them now, but perhaps in the future.

Yay! I officially have 0 ebucks left!

Spent them ebiatches like there was no tomorrow...even bought R11 airtime to klaar them all!

How did you spend them and how much balance you had
