Tips to Boost your eBucks

What are the differences between Platinum and Private in terms of price and rewards?

The one major thing I saw was that a) you pay a bit more and b) you get your smart device value back in ebucks on Private. What else should I take into consideration?

You need to be on private wealth to get your smart device costs back. Ie earn a fark load.
Private Clients does not offer this.
Advantages of the new PVC
Uncapped eBucks
Higher earn rate on online, international and normal swipes. Priority pass and slow lounge obviously also a plus if you travel.

Are you sure - I'm certain I read some documentation yesterday that Private Clients does offer device ebucks back?
Maybe it's from when Private Wealth was called Private Clients?

Bah! Well that doesn't benefit me at all then. And as I don't earn a farkload private wealth isn't an option. Shot for correcting me before I made a blind leap.

Id be very happy if you were right but pretty sure it is reserved for the wealth clients and as you say the 'old' private cleints.

When I had an issue last time they took 2 months, and eventually put me in contact with a guy who didn't even know that your reward level affects the rate you earn eBucks... he thought your RL only affected discounts when you spend eBucks
True story.
Slightly off topic here but how's this for "customer service"...
Since FNB is using my last 12 month's spend to calculate my RL points, i asked them to give me a month-to month breakdown of my spend.
(That way I could tweak my habits to maximize my RL points. So if i was R1000 short of making the max RL points for spend, I could maybe draw R1000 cash@till and pay some stuff with cash rather than scheduled payments / EFTs)
Their response (paraphrased) : "Go do it yourself"
Hello HelloPeter

Checked my qualifying criteria and did not get this (new rules). Strange since I have not being in a branch in over a year. Put in a query will see what happens

> Do all your payments and transfers during the month via our electronic channels instead of an FNB Branch

Hello HelloPeter

haha.
Since they now use month-by-month calculations... completely pointless.

It isn't 12 month rolling window anymore, right? It is now month to month if I understand it correctly.

Ah, yes it is.
But all the rest is month-to-month.
Which actually contradicts their marketing blah-blah-blah that everything is month-to-month.
But that's another topic altogether.
It's quite obvious now to me (and a previous post said it): FNB is now making a deliberate effort towards being obscure and unhelpful with the aim of people not reaching a higher RL.
What a sad state of affairs.
But i think I've gone enough off topic now ... gonna let the HelloPeter process take its course and wait for the call from FNB.

Quicker resolution - email your query and complaint to [email protected]

My ongoing saga is still going on with them, I will take it to hello peter and social media as soon as I get a chance.

Hello HelloPeter

WOW - thats shocking... i emailed my banker earlier this year - and he sent me a screenshot of their ebucks screen, and he highlighted the "easy" things I can do to boost my level. That was great service.

I've asked for the same thing now... he said he is getting my account analysed by the ebucks team and will get back to me in 2 working days, which i am ok with :-) The reason for this path.. is because I questioned some of the things that I "missed" and put me down to lvl2.

Sigh - you're right.
Still a few years to go before I'm in that bracket

Us mere mortals on Gold don't get that service. :p

Thanks

rbjacobs can at least very quickly tell you your complaint is without merit.
