Rubbish, most cloned cards are garage cards. It's one of the few places where they have to take the card away. Mine was cloned and so were a few other people's at our garage down the road

All the garages I go to, they bring the speedpoint to me.

I've shared my experience around the issues I've had with my FNB private credit card. It's a bit rude to tell me I'm speaking rubbish since you don't know me or have never interacted with me before.
My Petro card never leaves my sight as all the petrol stations I have been to recently have machines on the forecourt.
Explain to me what the genius who clones petrol cards are going to buy? A petrol tanker full of gas?

Well you clearly don't know much about banking systems and fraud, I do. So let's just leave it at that.

Nicely done again.
You know what they say about idiots.
They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience. I accept that I have been beaten by your skills in this case. :D

That would apply to using a credit card too.

I can think of a scam involving petrol right off the top of my head. I'm sure they can come up with any number of schemes.

Naive people like you give me hope for humanity. It's me and other ****ers like me I'm worried about:

Assume Johnny petrol guy clones Craig private client guy's petrol card. Johnny petrol guy meets Bobby the associate. Bobby the associate pays Johnny petrol guy R200 to use the cloned card. Bobby the associate then buys R600's worth of fuel with Craig private client guy's credit card.

It could happen.

Could end up refuelling an entire fleet of taxis...

In my naivety, I'd much rather fight with FNB over a few taxi's worth of fuel than the R80k that came off my credit card when it was cloned.
I don't have the resources the herder of Nerfs and the rat who runs on treadmills has. :D

Well, i had the hugest fight with FNB on the phone today, finally got around to going to a branch to downgrade our platinum to gold cheque account on the 25th. For the last 10 years we have been on the unlimited pricing option but the genius consultant took it upon herself to change that to pay as you go for some reason. Thank god i checked our account today...R16 per debit order from the 25th x 2 so far and R7 for every eft ive done since then (quite a few). Almost R80 in bank charges in 2 days and thankfully most of our debit orders hadnt gone off yet. I was livid, quickly called them, they changed my pricing option but refused to refund me my bank charges, said i must go BACK to the branch and fight with them there. I honestly dont have the time now so will more than likely never get around to it and write off the money....that stupid bloody biiiach. So if you guys are upgrading/downgrading accounts for ebucks, make sure they stick to your original pricing option...I honestly have no idea why they cant do it for me over the phone, skelms!!!!

What you need to do is upgrade your recently downgraded gold cards to platinum for the phone stuff to work.

Go on Facebook and complain and email [email protected]

Same exact thing happened to me and got refunded the charges.

Don't let them get away with it.

From the FNB Connect website:
You have qualified for 10% on your first Uncapped ADSL purchase, based on your Cheque Account reward level. Any subsequent purchases will be at the normal price.

To view details about your Cheque Account reward level please login to www.ebucks.com. For queries around reward levels please call 0860 11 22 44.

A guy from FNB Connect also called me and confirmed the above.

Where do I now get the reward level for the cheque account? With the old rules there were separate reward levels for the cheque & credit card. With the new rules they have been combined.

I have a gold cheque & gold credit card and on level 4 with the new rules and should get 80% discount on their uncapped.

same issue. wait till 8th Dec. they have a glitch in there system I was told

Glitch will continue to Jan 2015 going by their track record

I gave up my AH account last month to wait for sweet bugger all from FNB. On the plus side, my HDD space has diminished only slightly due to very little downloading :p

What is the rule on fuel discounts now? Is it still capped at 20% of one's (platinum) credit card spend for the period in question?

I assume one can now use cheque card or credit card for the purchase. The only difference being that using the latter adds to total credit card spend?

Likewise for prepaid electricity purchases, either card/account can be used as reward level is the same regardless. Capped at 1k per month for platinum?

Dont shoot the messenger haha... I dont know the facts this is what I was told.

I am on 10% as well for fnbconnect. I am on reward level 3. got few things extra this month so should be reward level 4.

40% discount or 80% sounds good.

@StrontiumDog - dropped my Telkom account as wel for fnbconnect. I dont do p2p traffic. if need to I have an VOX bolt on service for the evenings.
