A tad yeah. Shoulda done it before the 17th!

That said, looks like current discounted vouchers are:
- Makro
- Checkers
- Incredible connection
- Cape union mart
Perfect for me :)

A shame about Kalahari disappearing, but perhaps one day we will see Takealot supporting ebucks vouchers.

Busy with some maintenance at home and glad I purchased the Builder's Warehouse Vouchers on Monday. Got me R4 500.00 which should be delivered by Friday. Only problem is that they only had R250 vouchers so will be getting 18 gift cards.

That's gonna irritate the person behind you at the till.

Something funky is going on with FNB's credit approval process.

A few days ago, I tried to see if I could take out a temporary loan for R300. Remember a few pages back, one poster said that a temporary loan like that was essentially paying FNB R39 for a massive points boost. I was going to click cancel as soon as it came up, but it didn't even get that far, it said that my account was not eligible. I contacted the "Premier" banking service, but as usual they knew nothing and could not help. I left it because I didn't really want a loan anyway.

Then, yesterday, I applied for a Smart Device - a Lenovo A7600 for the grand total of R165 per month. Not breaking the bank, you would agree. I get an SMS today saying that my application has been declined due to not meeting the credit criteria.

I currently have a credit card with FNB, a credit card with discovery (also backed by FNB), a homeloan with FNB, and vehicle finance with FNB. I had a look at my credit report today, and my credit is outstanding - 966 out of a possible 999. So nearly as good as you can get. My salary more than covers that device, frikken 10 times over.

Googling the message that I got, I see that I am not the first person to complain about it. Maybe a "genius" locked my account or something?

I phoned them, and they said (as usual) they had no idea. They had to send a message to the credit department, who would (apparently) phone me back by the end of today. Has anyone else experienced anything similar?

I specifically ordered 7 x R100 Vouchers on Monday and today they give me one R700 Voucher...

Did you specify this before checkout? A year ago u had a ton of ebucks and wanted to donate some Shoprite vouchers to an NGO. I told them it must be made up of R50 vouchers as it will be given directly by the NGO to the recipients instead of giving them cash. I ordered 150 x R50 Shoprite = R7 500. They delivered 150 vouchers as requested.

Probably some stupid rule set to auto-flag too many credit applications at once?

I have no other credit applications going. The home loan, vehicle loan, etc etc, have been approved long ago. I've been making regular payments on them, in the case of the home loan, over a year.

EDIT: FNB just phoned, seemed the application was declined in error. Going through now. They don't really know (or couldn't tell me) why it was declined in the first place.

I meant the temp loan and Smart Device applications could be viewed as credit type applications, but as they admitted it was an error, the discussion is moot :p

True.

Well the temp loan thing wasn't even an application, it was like, let me click on this link to see what it does, oh I am not eligible. Didn't even get to the point where I could enter an amount that I wanted to borrow.

At least the smart device is sorted and should be delivered by the end of the week (will be pleasantly surprised if they do). If I am really lucky, I'll make reward level 5 this month. Kinda unlikely, admittedly, but not impossible.

Ebucks rocks. I know the saying, there's no such thing as a free lunch, but I'm not the one paying for it.

I don't mind paying the R300 every month in Bank fees.

Ebucks earned in February = eB28 000
Builders warehouse vouchers = R4 500.00 (18xR250)

The thing about this post that makes me the happiest is that he used a Windows Phone to upload that pic.
