Tips to Boost your eBucks

I want clarity in online spend on private clients it seems it's capped at R7500 and anything more doesn't earn a thing which was not the case before as it used to count towards shopping @2.5%

It seems if your online spend is more than R7500, you will earn:
- 0.6% eBucks for online spend above R7500 when using your credit card
- no eBucks for the online spend above R7500 when using your cheque card

Don't worry about the requirements - they will let anyone join PC or PW as long as you pay the monthly fee. They had a heap of signups for PW at work and these guys are earning around 300-400K a year.

Wait...what? Then why have the requirements?

gah, quick calculation and I will be on level 3 with these new rules.

Where are the new rules again? Seems the ebucks site calculator only has the old ones?

"NEW! Earn up to 40% back in eBucks on your qualifying FNB Connect contract or when loading FNB Connect prepaid airtime."

Does anyone have more information about FNB Connect - the network they will use and the mobile contracts or prepaid options that will be available?

Platinum: 100% CC spend

FYI about the 4000 points on platinum for spending 100% on your credit card: I called Ebucks who said that drawing cash@till with your cheque card won't affect these points. Got a reference number, hopefully they know what they're talking about. Makes sense though because they give you points for using cash@till rather than atm

Thanks. Was just going to ask about this.

I'm on Gold - will stay with 19000 points - no change in transactions.

Boss is on RMB - can get to 20000 points with a small change on investments.

Wealth and RMB rules look easier than previous. I could get to 5 without nearly meeting requirements.

Wait...what? Then why have the requirements?

The bank just wants to make money. Why keep you at gold at R xxx per month when they can have you on PW bundled at R399 per month.

It's not like the person's banking habits are going to drastically change, the only winner is the bank.

PW or PC?

As my banker told me the other day, the overdraft on PW is changed

Have an Overdraft facility of at least R20 000 on your FNB Private Wealth Cheque Account of which you have used:
Between 20% and 39.9% 1 000
Between 40% and 59.9% 2 000
Between 60% and 100% 3 000

The minimum deposit change for PW sucks a little as my salary alone doesn't meet the minimum anymore. I guess I should be ok with the total deposits in 3 months criteria as there's always some other money coming in to my account here and there.

It is probably easier than before to get to RL5 but will need to make some changes during this month to be sure to get there from next month.

Here is my calculation for the Gold Cheque + Gold Credit Card ebucks rules from 1 July 2015. Let me know if you find any errors.

There will have to be some behavior changes for myself to remain on level 5. 1 good thing is that the ebucks yearly charge goes away on the credit card.
"From 1 July 2015, you will:

No longer pay an annual fee of R200 to link your FNB Gold Credit Card to earn eBucks if you hold an FNB Gold Cheque Card and an FNB Gold Credit Card; your Gold Credit Card will be automatically linked to earn eBucks."
