Regarding the 4000 points for only using your CC.

My routine are:

1) Draw R100 a month via cash@tills
2) Spend only via CC (Shopping / Online / Petrol etc)
3) Debit orders goes off as usual
4) Keep my cheque balance at R15k a month

That sounds like a good way of going at it.

In other news, I moved to level 3 :D :D :D :D

Download as CSV your transaction data on your ccard and follow what the running balance is day by day.

Cool.. trying to put that together. The balance column of the CSV file is empty though? There is a balance figure right at the top. Is that my ending balance for the statement and then I just work backwards from my last transaction?

Oh... and anyone know if the 10%-90% of CC use includes the budget facility portion? I've been working on that assumption and thinking that will keep me in the clear but now I'm not so sure.

10-90% of your total (budget + straight) facility.

So if your total limit is 30k, you need to use at least 3k - irrespective of which facility you choose...

Are you not charged interest immediately on Cash withdrawals (Cash@Till) from the Credit card?

According to me, you cant withdraw money from cash@tills using your CC. I tried 3 times. Every time the cashier explained only debit cards are allowed.

I know someone that just did that :/

Can he transfer from his credit card into the cheque card once a month to hit the deposit criteria - then transfer back?

You need to transfer to a different account (wife, child etc.) and then transfer back to your cheque account. If you don't have access to another account you can transfer it to mine, I promise I'll transfer back

Nope ... If you are using your CC ... just pay the amount owed in full when the due date is for your monthly cycle. If you pay late, interest will be added

Yip, got my CC setup to pay the full amount at the beginning of the month. Just confirming, remember fuel used to count as drawing cash on the CC, which meant interest charges from the time you used it.

I'm struggling a bit to get this set up, which option did you choose at the auto payment? Actual balance settlement, full amount or full statement balance?
