Yup. Make the most of it. I'm pulling 4k a month from makro. A lot more than I'm paying in charges, that's for sure.

Now that is awesome! And thats how to play the game... you would be spending the money anyways on food and "life", so why not optimise and get something back!

I do feel - once it gets stressful or their are too many hoops to jump through... then its time to move along and find a new one ;-)

Why is FNB so keen to get people to use their CC, over their Cheque card?
I assume VISA/Mastercard charges are the same. So much just be that the more clients have credit, the most likely they are to use it.

More comm for the bank on CC transactions than debit card transactions.

Agreed. I'm not doing anything really extraordinary or jumping through too many hoops. I used to play the Vitality game but that just got ridiculous.

Actually Vitality is the easiest one of them all. I am still on Diamond, although now that I have a spouse on my profile from this year, it means I need to get her to also go to the fitness tests ect.

Can I ask what changes are causing you guys to drop down reward levels?

On Private Wealth:
The following don't count at all:
Have an active secondary Credit Card on your FNB Private Wealth Credit Card account, and spend a minimum of R500 each month on the secondary card-1000 points
Have an active FNB Tablet, Smartphone or Laptop contract on your FNB Private Wealth account-1000 points
Have a scheduled monthly transfer into a Flexi Fixed or 32 Day Flexi Notice account of R5 000 or more per month-2000
Have banked with FNB or RMB Private Bank for 3 years or more-1000

These have been combined into one:
Allow FNB Private Wealth to tell you about the latest news and deals by giving them consent to market to you and updating your contact detail at least once in a 12 month period via Online Banking-1000
Choose to receive your Cheque, Single Facility and Credit Card Account statements via email only-1000
Allow us to communicate with you (i.e. update your marketing consent to 'Yes') AND keep your contact information up to date-1000

This has been changed:
Have six or more monthly Debit Orders or Scheduled Payments on your Cheque or Single Facility account-1000
Scheduled payments no more count

Islamic Account holders would previously get 3000 points for not being able to hold interest-bearing products, this is now dropped to 2000

100% spend on CC instead of cheque card = 4000 points, makes up for those

I guess we will have to go on a little trial and error over the next few months to see how we can adapt to the changes.

How do I set this option?

Be registered for inContact, update your contact details at least once in a 12-month period via Online Banking, allow FNB to communicate with you by giving them consent to market to you and choose to receive all your statements via email only

Screw that, you have to change your phone number or email address annually to be able to update your contact details :P

But it appears like you need ALL four?

All the platinum clients being upgraded to PC anyway so may as well keep rules the same.

Not quite true. My premier banker asked if I want to upgrade to PC. Well, the first thing she said, to have my fees waived, I need R75 000 in my cheque account at all times. So I said I would rather stay where I now am, thanks, but no thanks

Might be going down to Level 4 on the New Rules.
If the rules were not changing I would have 22k reward points.
