Tips to Boost your eBucks

Dropped from RL5 to RL1,, bollocks,, credit card no longer qualifies , also not showing my scheduled R500 to investment and overdraft use not showing as well.

The calculator seems to have more tips now. When you hit a cap the note next to it explains a bit more about why. The Checkers tip also lets you see how much more you can spend before hitting the cap.

I also got points for all the Home Loan items, but I thought I wouldn't because I took money out of the loan last month. Still, 23000 points total so won't complain :)

As for the R500 scheduled investment points, also didn't get that but I suspect it's because my first one went off on 1 August, so the rule might not have applied for July.

I wonder if these changes worked out better or worse for FNB.

I mean, let's look at FNB's goals:
Reduce the amount of money that each customer costs to maintain (in terms of branch transactions)
Increase the amount of money that each customer spends at the bank, or indirectly earns the bank through fees and interest
Reduce the amount of money paid out to customers as eBucks

I wonder which of them, if any, they were successful in achieving.

Irrespective of the rewards program used, be it Ebucks, Vitality etc, I think only a very very small percentage of people actually use it to the extent that it can be.

That percentage of people are literally like a drop in the ocean to FNB. Take my dad as an example. He has been banking with FNB for more than 30 years. Even though I consider him to be quite tech savvy (for his age), he didnt even know about Ebucks until about a year ago, and It was only because I told him about it.

Is it possible to pay speeding fines via EasyPay ? I cant find the easypay number to be used for Johannesburg Metro Police Dept.

I can see a lot of other traffic departments in the list, but not JMPD

Thanks ... they direct me to payCity.co.za

What I am trying to find out, I know for easypay accounts that is seen as online shopping. And ebucks gets rewarded for that.

But I truly hate fines

Paycity should count as online shopping too...

i am a relative newbie with fnb. but my banker told me to update my email address to be wrong and then fix it in order to get the 1000pts. For me - i can't remember when last i updated my in contact settings... so i will do this every few mths...

And she was quite explicit that its a bug in the system - and you have to fiddle it to make sure you keep the 1000pts...

Ok ... I found out via FNB what am I missing here.

Each and every account should have an email address specified.

I have a flexi account and share saver, where no email was specified, that is why I didn't get those 1000 points

Either way - the excess is not carried into the swipes category.

My excess was carried over / paid out correctly. On PC my Online eB earn allotment consists of both the 5% (maxed) plus the 0.6% (rest).

No. Online shopping has a certain cap (different for each card). Thereafter you earn at your swipes earn rate. What I see under earn at the moment for swipes, does not take into account the excess from online.

Thank you for this, I just picked out the same thing after you mentioned it. Gave them a call, should we worth about R160 more in vouchers for me. Cheers!

On a separate note,
To calculate my ebucks now I just download my credit card statement in excel and add up the different categories ie. Checkers, petrol to check FNB.

Note that transactions on the 29 or 30th normally carry over into next month. This screwed me up this month because some R3k of online carried over in the next month where I had another R6k of online. Lost out abt R200 in vouchers because hit the online limit.

Looks like the new rules will be bumping me up from level 3 to 5 next month :D :D
4000 points away which I will get by:

Do all your payments and transfers electronically and don't do any transactions at an FNB branch during the month - 1000
- After losing my wallet last month, I went to collect my new card and got a 1 month statement while I was there. can't even remember why I needed it :/ silly me
Everything electronic this month though!

Have an active FNB Vehicle Finance or WesBank Account which you have paid on time, update your contact details in the last 12 months via WesBank Online and give WesBank permission to market to you - 1000
- Probably just needed to update my details which was done this month. Everything else is definitely in order

Log in to WesBank Online at least once a month - 1000
- Did so for the first time this month

Spend R3 000 or more on your FNB Platinum Credit Card in a calendar month (excl. EFTs and transfers) - Currently at 1000 of 2000 points
- Havent been using my CC exclusively but already spent over R10k on it this month so that will give me another 500. definitely will be doing that going forward.

Also noticed that my device points have not been added... another 1000

Where are these tips, cant find them

From what I can see it is calendar month with a few transactions getting delayed

In my eyes, it has to do with a weekend. If I buy stuff on a Friday, Saturday or sunday, it only reflects on the Tuesday.

But if month end is in the middle of the week, its reflects within 24 hours
