How do you keep your 100% spend on your credit card while traveling overseas?

Its easy enough to swipe but what about cash transactions? Just draw out of your CC?

Well withdrawing from your cheque account is not equivalent to swiping your credit card, so you should still be able to keep 100% spend on credit card? You will however lose whatever points applies to your colour card for drawing cash from an ATM.

Not really ebucks related but do anybody know if you still get the R50 back on a Smart Device when you spend x amount on your credit card per month.

Only if bought the device when the promo was running. I still get my R50 back a month.

I cant remember if this has been covered.

The different requirements regarding a time period ( dont go into arrears for X amount of time, or spend an average of X over X amount of time), does your time period change back to 0 if you go to another account? Like moving from Gold to Platinum?

I see in the wording they always include the acount that youre on.

It doesn't change when moving to a different account. I moved up to PC just over a year ago from platinum and it kept the time period.

If you use your platinum credit card to pay for fuel will you get charged interest from the date of transaction? Trying to figure out the best way to pay for fuel whilst maximizing ebucks without any interest charged.

No interest charged on fuel swipes when using your credit card.

FNB really need to make the difference clear when using a credit card vs petrol card for fuel purchases. This question has been asked multiple times in this thread already.

Thanks, I did notice it on the thread but wanted clarification as I was in the branch yesterday for another matter but posed this question to the consultant. She wasn't sure so she phoned the ebucks line whilst I was there and they informed her that fuel is considered a special transaction and there will be interest charged if using a platinum cc. Obviously though the guy on the call center didn't know it was changed. Still, giving incorrect info at the branch is ridiculous. @signates thanks for the clarification

That my friend is how fnb rolls. Their branch customer service is very clueless when it comes to stuff like that. Their call centre is even worse. The just transfer you to the "right" department until you get mad and hang up the phone.

I've never experienced that with FNB. They've always been very helpful and went out of their way to sort out an issue I had when I upgraded from Gold to Platinum.

I didn't qualify for a Platinum credit card unless I increased my limit, which I didn't want to do so they did a "card swap" and it changed to Platinum on the system so that I can have the bundle option.

I still remember once when my complaint was escalated to a supervisor who didn't know that RL affects both earn and spend. He insisted it only affected spend.

I stopped asking the eBucks call center questions after that... i just ask here! :)

I called the Premier line. They are very helpful.

Called the eBucks line once to find out about price dropping off with the last change they had and the operator couldn't answer me...
