Tips to Boost your eBucks

Which "investment accounts" add towards your ebucks? I have emergency money that I keep handy, would the Money on Call account work?

Then setup to move R500 to that account every month.

Thoughts?

I chose a Flexi fixed deposit this morning. Transferred R2500 into said account with an automatic transfer of R250 every month.
It should get me 500 points on Gold IIRC.

Yes, that works, I'm doing exactly that too

2nd month in a row that I'm not getting points for the FNB app transactions.

This means I again end up lvl4 as opposed to lvl5.

Can I see in the app which transaction were app specific? If so how? Who can I then send that info to, to complain?

I have the exact same issue...

Tried to work hard for lvl 5 this month, waiting to see if they allocated it correctly!

Just look at your inContact messages, it will probably look like this.

FNB :-) R300.00 paid from cheq a/c..xx @ Smartapp. Avail Rxx. Ref.Electricity xx. 3Jan 17:26

Thanks,

In this case I don't see anything but I know I purchased Lotto tickets via the app.

Annoying! Any clarification on what they count as app usage?

<edit>You would not see Lotto showing up in inContact unless you spent over R100 (R101 or greater?). </edit>

Anyway, I was curious and checked on my side.

Online banking gives no indication of what was done on the app.
The PDF statement they send shows you in the second from left column "FNB App Payment To" for any app transactions made by you. However, for Lotto and Powerball it only says "Lotto Purchase" in that left column or "Powerball Purchase".

inContact SMS and email messages will say "@ Smartapp." in the message header/body.

Its possible that they somehow don't count items under the "Buy" menu as app transactions (i.e. Lotto, Powerball, Prepaid Electricity/Airtime, etc...) ?

In the meanwhile I'd suggest doing an actual account to account transfer or payment to another person via the app if you don't want to miss another month of RL5. In case they shoot you down and say that Lotto doesn't count...

edit: It looks like Lotto/Powerball can only be purchased via the app now:

LOTTO and PowerBall services will be temporarily unavailable on FNB Online Banking and FNB ATM.

The LOTTO and PowerBall services can be accessed on FNB Cellphone Banking (*120*321#) or by using the FNB Banking APP.

So there you have your proof that you used the app for that purpose, provided Lotto counts as an app transaction that they want you to do in terms of eBucks Rewards rules!

Yes :-)

but the 'How I got this' has not been updated yet.

Had a very good eBucks month, but December was an overbudget spending month, that did hurt :-(

20k and stuck to RL5! And I f'd up by having a blonde moment, forgot my pin for my cc (didn't have my cellphone with me) and used my Cheque card. Happy Ebucks peeps!
