Tips to Boost your eBucks

Well reading between the lines, it looks like there is not going to be any more eBucks for Gold customers. They're going to be placed on a different reward scheme along with Easy customers, where you can only use it on products and services in one of 8 categories. eBucks is now only going to be for "high" earners, relatively speaking. A lot of people are going to be pissed...

I read that line as easy customers get a programme similar to eBucks and gold customers remain on eBucks but move away from the points system, their reward level depend on the number of products held.

If you look at the current rules, it is basically the same (for ALL platforms)

What do you have to get points:

A bond
A carloan
A cheque account
A credit card account

And then how do you bank

Yes, but you get points allocated for doing certain things within those.
It seems this won't be the case with gold.
It seems various products will be worth a level on its own and not x amount of points to help you climb a level.
Essentially you are correct, however I was pointing out the move away from the point system which will remain for other products.

I also see what you are meaning.

Well, think we are all guessing now. We might be wrong or right ! but lets see how this thread is moving from 1 June when the rules are out !

Hope we can all remain on level 5 ! That is my motto !

Why not just open up a 32-day account with FNB? Better rates.
Capitec is around 5.5% and no hassle getting the money as in a 32day call, in addition you do need to still pay the cc off once a month you can't run a debt order off a 32 day call Acc?

What I do is settle the full cc amount due on the last cc statement on the last day possible (25th), that's an auto debit from the fnb cheque account.

Also to ensure I get ebucks fee reversed and stay on level 5 etc I transfer minimum R5k(or more depending on the cc spend or less if any other funds came into the cheque acc) from Capitec to FNB cheque account on the 22nd to make sure the finds are cleared by the 25th for the cc debit order.

So my money is easily accessible earning top interest in Capitec whilst the ebucks system is earning me free money and cc is giving me an interest free loan!

32-day account allows multiple (downward adjustable) notices. There is no reason why you can't plan withdrawals to coincide with your CC pay date.

I know exactly what you are saying. I got most of my FNB co staff on level 5 within 3 months. But if you don't sit down and do the sums, you wont get there.

I switched to FNB in August 2013 and that time it was 12 months revolving points system but I reached level 5 in the same month and never dropped a level since then

5.5% interest....really...wtf.

I dont get it? I dont see the point of 5.5% interest. Seems too little to me.
Around a R1000 a year for free, I'll take it.

Too much admin for barely more interest than 5.5%?

And if FNB isn't your main account/ie the account that receives min R5k deposits a month for free ebucks subscription then you need to pay in min R5k each month from an outside bank, using Capitec does that perfectly and you still get a decent interest rate.

Same principle if you have a home loan - except the interest rate doubles.

We need a new thread for the new rules, this thread will reach max contributions soon!

This is the main problem wit eBucks. No-one, not even FNB or any eBucks Consultant understands the rules or can explain them. It's a crap shoot at the end of every month to see what you have "won".

I have been logging onto FNB 4 times per month with my cell app. Just to get the points as listed for doing that. Nothing. Nada. Zip.

Call eBucks and they don't know why and will "escalate it". Nothing happens. They tell me to call FNB and FNB says I must call eBucks.

Pfffft.........

What package are you on? I know with Premium you have to do at least one transaction, not just log-on.
