To rapidshare or not to rapidshare?

Since I started using RS I haven't looked back, best thing since sliced bread really.... no crxxpy uploads to hassle with.... and I usually purchase access to their services every quarter. Once you have been a member for a while you are also able to use your free loyalty points accumulated to offset against your account. Nice for the "tough months" :) I am not sure if any of the others offer this too?
Cant wait for my 8MB line to arrive so I test my RS download throughput :)

Oh ja, you are able to share your account between PCs, I had an instance where my account was locked due to "illegal use" of RS services. After I emailed them and explained the situation, that I have one PC at work and one at home, they were cool with it. Just a wee slap on the wrist and I was connected in minutes. They certainly on the ball on the support side, think how long you wait for support replies locally...

seriously, torrents are gay :D

i bought my RS account and never looked back. All you need it katz.cd and away you go.... popped in an additional 100GB traffic share and I swear Im gonna be downloading till the cows come home

let me elaborate

if you getting a small file, the chances are 99% that you trying to download content that has been flagged by rapidshare as copyright, and they remove the links. Another annoying thing is when they only remove a few of the links, but you need all 30 RAR files (for example).

Its essential that you pop all the URL's through a URL checker, then off you go...

All this time Ive been using rapidshare, it happens SELDOM, but if it does happen you just google the file name you need and I promise you another site will have the exact same upload under different names. Its easy

Rapid share also has a great retention. I can get files that are many years old, that cant be found on torrents or news servers.

That's not a hack, it's a script running on a webserver that downloads from RS and then you download from the server directly. It's no different than downloading from RS other than a "middle-man" is involved.
 
I tried that site, input my 200mb file and after 60min it told me the file was gone :( and link was dead.

I just bit the bullet and signed up with rapidshare 180days and going strong with no hassles what so ever on my SAOL acc.
 
The site had a limit of 60mins for files (auto deleted after 60mins, it's up to 2 hours now I think), that's why it was dead.

Having your own account will be way easier though I'm sure.
 
I tried all the cheating methods, it's just too much hassle!
The rapidshare allows me to download 5gb a day, which I'll never reach on a 384k line.
Just put the downloads into free download manager and I'm away at 35k average.
Wonder if I try flashget whether it'll download faster? Maybe average 40k
