Toll gate and bikers

I drove back from KZN today to JHB
At the toll before van reenens pass two bikers tailgated me as I went thru.
This is the second time it happened.
And it really annoys me.

Why do bikers do this ?

Just pull away very slowly and come to a stop just past the boom :p

You know how difficult it is to get out credit cards/wallets etc when you're in full gear?
Not justifying what they do, but they'd probably piss the people behind them off that much more if they actually paid.
 
I'm no biker but they really don't do any harm to roads so there should be a small open gate for them. Anyway they use so much less fuel etc etc.
 
Yep happened to me a few times as well. The guy in the toll booth was frantically pointing at the back of my car. He obviously new what was going to happen.

No way I was going to stop it, next moment the biker follows me and catches on $h!t with me.

Three reasons, choose any.

1. They are forced to pay the same for tolls as cars while not having the same footprint on the road if any at all.

2. Paying for the above unnecessary tolls is a ball-ache and half and takes time.

3. Because of the above and not having a dedicated lane they’ve at some point needed to deal with an angry motorist because they take too long.

I’ve never skipped a toll gate, but understand point 2 and 3 all too well.

It’s a protest of sorts.

It really shouldn’t be and you are obviously more relaxed than most of waiting doesn’t bother you.

But at a very busy toll with queues I’ve seen people completely lose their ****.

You like your car without dents , no broken windows and side mirrors attached ? Cause if they catch you (and they will) all those will be broken/smashed

I really don’t see a point paying when that money will be used by some corrupt government official .

Sad case of damned if you do, damned if you don't..
Option 1: Tailgate behind a car, people get pissed off.

Option 2: Slowly roll up, put bike in neutral or switch off the engine.
Take off gloves.
Unzip jacket.
Get wallet out of zipped inner pocket.
Whip out some cash to pay. (at this point, dude behind you is _probably_ getting frustrated)
Receive change, place back into wallet, place wallet back into pocket.
Zip up jacket.
(^ between here and v here, someone somewhere behind you is probably hooting)
Put gloves back on.
Start engine.
Drive off.

Aaah... I love biking, but people can be so impatient.
 
Yup can say the same for idiots at the garages that comes stop behind the biker when there are multiple free bays and then get irate about it.

I don’t know if bikes relax people or if cars make people impatient, but the two don’t mix.
 
It's a common thing, when we went out for a Sunday ride, there would be a leader paying the toll and then the rest chasing through :D
 
Have never paid a toll in my life.

Idiocy of the "rules" means that if I take my SUV with 5 people inside, plus tow my caravan, and then tow my bike/boat/jet ski on a trailer behind the caravan, I will pay the same amount as I would if I was alone on the bike.
 
Law is the law. You choose to not pay tolls, so be it. If the car in front of you choses to hard brake right after the boom though or crawl and stop you're possibly in for a world of hurt.

Not to mention the fact you possibly angered that motorist enough for him to take it out on the next biker trying to pass him.
 
Bikers: WE have no footprint and should not have to pay tolls or even obey any rules of the road.

Bikers: Treat us like any car on the road by ALWAYS being on the lookout for us when we weave in and out of traffic.

Please just fuk off......

A some bikers would resort to violence because they had to pay a toll?
