Mine doesn't. And you still need to take off the armoured gloves to have any kind of dexterity in your fingers

I can see how removing a glove could cause problems. Equally so putting it back on afterwards.

Don't paint all bikers with the same brush please.
Otherwise we could say all cagers are selfish, inattentive morons who are unqualified to change their own nappy never mind be in control of 2 tons of high speed machinery, based on one or two of the incidents I've nearly had.

See, this is the sentiment car drivers have towards bikers because a few give us a bad name (blue lights, tailgaiting, passing on the left, flipping the bird when a car hoots at you etc). But no, let's go with "I'm not a car so I shouldn't pay the same". Tell your landlord that you're only a houehold of two and he should not charge you the same as he would a family of four and see how that goes.
 
Well I have dropped my card at a toll before and the car behind me wasn't happy. Tap and go might be an interesting idea forward but that will only work if the jacket supports a card on the right hand side. Triumph's gear does but BMW's doesn't.

Why are bicycles exempt over chappies? The same applies to them - they too want to be treated as "vehicles" on the road. But yet they don't have to pay jack squat.
They're a frikkin menace on that route, riding abrest and forcing traffic into uncoming lanes.
 
Wow! What an argument!

For the first time in about 10 years, I actually witnessed a biker (in Centurion) who actually did obey the rules of the road last week.

He did not:

(1) Try and push through the traffic on the white line.
(2) Try and occupy the same space in the lane as another vehicle.

He did:

(3) Keep his line
(4) Stayed in the middle of the lane.
(5) Signaled his intentions

It was a pleasure to have him on the road.

So what was he? A new biker?

Cyclists are not "forcing" you to do anything. If you are encroaching into the on coming lanes when not safe to do so, you are doing that all on your own.

TIL - always thought bikes would be a separate category - seems a bit silly.
 
If you don't want to pay the toll don't get on the highway.
Like going to kfc and not paying for your takeaway. It's theft.
 
One thing I found annoying was on a trip from to Centurion to Durban is to see the tolls being significantly more than my fuel spend.

yes lane splitting. Yes it is legal under very specific conditions and at very specific speeds. He was actually obeying the rules governing lane splitting -----

So my question stands was this a new biker? One that has not fallen for the herd mentality yet?
 
How about this view?

A responsible law abiding biker who knows he will be on a toll road, will prepare for having to pay toll fees and will ensure that he has his card or the cash in a pocket that he can reach relatively easily when required?

Is that asking too much?
