Sorry fam, I stopped consuming excess sugar about two years ago. Aside from what is already in whatever I am eating or drinking, I don't add anything else. No sugar in my tea or coffee or on my cereal.

Pepsi Max, Coke No Sugar, Monster Absolutely Zero.

I doubt it. Sugar sells itself. It's hugely addictive. This was a management issue. These workers will now learn first hand just how much the government will help out here....and maybe next time, vote better
Firstly sugar isn't highly addictive, that's an urban myth. You can go off sugar right now and never feel any withdrawals.

Tongaats problems aren't due to the sugar tax, it's due to mismangemant, the drought a few years ago, remember they don't only do sugar they also have a large maize portion through African Products.

Very addictive.
So you're listening to one or two scare "articles" that claimed it's as addictive as heroin? Yet those studies weren't done on humans but on rats and also show that anything we as humans fancy lights up the same parts of the brain as heroin as well.
It's not physically addictive in anyway or form, notice how I say physically... You could stop having sugar and you will not have any physical withdrawls at all. it's not heroin, nicotine, cocaine or any actual substance that causes physical addiction.

It is indeed apparently addictive and people who suffer cravings can have withdrawal when they go off of it.

So your definition of addictive is only that which can be compared to heroin. I see. Sugar is addictive. People can't live without out it, they can't stop using it. It's addictive. Period.

Where are you getting this from that people cannot live without it? It is simply not physically addictive, same as gambling isn't physically addictive. Some people may have addictive personalities and get dopamine rushes from certain things that normal people don't. So though the substance isn't physically addictive it can by psychologically addictive, like after the first 3 weeks of stopping cigarettes, technically the first 3 days you're no longer addicted physically, but you're still addicted mentally.

Too some people yes, but it's not addictive like actual real things like cigarettes. You get people addicted to video games, sex, cutting themselves etc... Doesn't mean those are on the same level as actual physical addiction whereby when you stop you actually get physically ill.
In other words it's not highly addictive.

I cannot vouch for the source but they claim you can have withdrawal.
Many who eliminate sugar from their diet find themselves experiencing withdrawal symptoms of irritability, fogginess, moodiness, and low energy. Since many struggling with sugar addiction have binged on sugary foods, withdrawal and cravings can be intense. Tragically, many choose to go back to eating sugary foods for the chemical release in the brain. A much better alternative is to do a dietary swap, whereby the sugar user exchanges unhealthy sweets for natural and healthy options to regain control.

You are arguing with someone whose mind is made up. No amount of fact will change that. You may as well go and shout at a brick.

"natural and healthy options to regain control." Fruit still contains sugar and fructose isn't any better than sucrose or glucose. If they are suffering those effects it's probably due to other factors, a lot of the processed foods with sugar include a lot of carbohydrates and other things that if completely cut out can cause fogginess and what seems like withdrawal symptoms, go look at the paleo diet crowd harp on about their withdrawals from carbs.
