Tooth extraction under general anesthesia?

Implants? Is that an uncomfortable op, drilling into the jawbone?
Happens in the chair under local anesthetic. Felt no pain at all - but thinking about that fact that they're drilling into your jawbone is a bit distressing so you inevitably sweat bullets. Also quite a long procedure sometimes so even though it's not painful it is still draining and unpleasant. But then again most dental stuff is a bit unpleasant anyway. I'd still just do local again if I needed another.

I had mine taken out as a teenager in hospital I don't know if they still do that today though

Go to a maxillofacial surgeon in stead of a dentist.

Should be covered fully by medical aid as it's an in hospital procedure, but you'll know before hand since they'll need to authorise it first.

People are ****ing crazy doing this in a chair with local only. Change dentists while you are at it.

Our dentist doesn't do wisdom extractions in the rooms, or anything that might impact the jaw. Anyone who does should be a red flag. The more you keep going back, the more they're going to milk your medical aid while you suffer. Get a referral to a maxillofacial surgeon...

I was a wuss and had mine done under general anesthesia  The thought of having the injections and drilling done made me wuss out.
I broke a tooth and had it removed and an implant placed under local anaesthesia, it wasn't pleasant, but it wasn't painful at all. The cost was by far the worst part.

I had a wisdom tooth and a molar taken out on the same side at the same time, and let me tell you I wish I did it under anaesthesia. I don't have any recommendations but totally understand why you would want to.
