Top Gear S22

Any ideas when there coming back to sa,
Love the politically incorrect Jeremy, not afraid of nobody, even talks about nkandla without fear,
Can only guess what he said about SONA chaos.

he's pretty bland when he doesn't have a script. but that could be intentional.

3 x :wtf:

I think we can all agree though that Top Gear (US of A) is garbage.

I have to meet one person who enough the USA version of TG.

Margot Robbie...is just such a looker; on TG; Oscars; About Time & of course The Wolf...

All British shows suck when converted to American. Just look at The Office

Can we all agree that TG USA was not as bad as TG Australia? :D

They're both schit, but I at least enjoyed the episode when the Aussies were invited to the UK for the motoring Ashes. Can't say I'd enjoy it if the Yanks were invited...

Well what I learned from EP5, or more likely confirmed what I'd heard before is that Mclaren are fine with a comparison, but only if the other cars are customer cars and not factory prepared, Ferrari only want a prepared car to be used and Porsche couldn't really care.
Not to mention the fact that Ferrari actually seem to threaten their customers that testing their " The Ferrari The Ferrari" will get them into trouble. Bloody cheek in my mind. (still want one though)
But honestly, they made these crazy cars, let people get on with them and decide which one they think is better. I dont think that it will really sway the opinions of those that already own one, both....or... all three!!!
At least to me Porsche looks the coolest cat here....oh you bought our car, awesome...you want to race it and test it against other cars? Sure go for it.
My thoughts...the Porsche is going to run the other 2 very close on the TG track and they dont like that prospect.

oh and the Peugeot bashing (pun intended :) )......HYSTERICAL

Here's a dude with all three....

Still dont understand ferrari, how can they ever know you tested their car?

Take it to dubai, get somebody to race it with no plates and wearing a helmet, its not like ferarri can see it on youtube and say were banning mr xyz,
He drove car number 231 against our reccomendations......

According to what TG said, the owner of car number 231 will then be blacklisted by Ferrari and will never be allowed to buy another limited edition Ferrari again...

Again, how can they know car number 231 was used?

I get it its rare, and expensive, but how can they identify a specific car from a video?

Do they got some kind of secret marking? A scratch in a place they know?

Telemetry devices?

Actually i do know,

Theyll employ a man to follow you in a peugot if you do anything they dont like, there your blacklisted:D:D:D

Well look, Top Gear isn't exactly water-tight at secrets ... the Stig's identity did get out after a while, after all.

Also, with such exclusive vehicles, I'm pretty sure the manufacturers have very good ideas regarding where they are at any point.

Finally, it's just a question of risk: to these owners, even if there was only a 20% chance that the manufacturer could figure it out, WOULD they risk it? Bearing in mind, car owners in this league probably didn't get this rich by embracing risk, and also probably get tired of their cars when the ashtrays are full (so to speak) ... a ban on car purchases is a very serious threat.

Frankly, I couldn't give a damn. Give it a year, and we'll all be drooling over these cars' replacements, so it's all good. Like it's been pointed out here, Ferrari probably knows very well that they've got no hope, and they don't want to be dealt the marketing blow to their halo vehicle.

Soooooo ... let's just skip to the hypothetical end-game.

... we call him The Stig!
(cut-scene of Stig listening to bad music)
(tyre-screeching)
And now, the results!
Who'd have thought, the Ferrari's the slowest?
Then we have the McLaren
And the fastest of all, the Porsche.
And on that bombshell... good night!

And now we can all sleep easily :D

Yeah, i get you, still HOW?

Its not like they got a secret ferrari tracker hidden in all their cars, and can tell were each driver and car is?

Say you live in dubai and there were 20 cars sold in dubai in total, one abu bin sallad the 200 got a private island and all 3 of the cars,

Goes races them, how could ferrari possibly know? Anyway once it leaves the manufactures theres no possible way for ferrari to actually know what their cars are used for?

This isnt a google glass, that google could shutdown remotly when somebody tried to sell it!

If TG really wanted to know they needed to bribe the right sheik

Honestly, I pay R245/month to Tracker for the privilege of knowing where my humble little hatchback is any time of the day (via sms, online, whatever). I've read that people who are Rich and Influential end up getting multiple tracking devices installed into their cars, so that the hijackers will hopefully miss one and they'll still get nabbed.

If I can have one, and your average luxury sedan owner has more than one, how many do you think a LaFerrari has in it? If Ferrari happens to 'forget' to accidentally turn one over to the owner, or happens to keep one running 'purely to provide support in the case of emergency maintenance', who's going to be any the wiser?

Ok, what if your a paranoid recluse? And hate tracking devices,

Or employ a jammer? Or forensically dismantle your car to get it to go faster like that japanese midnight club?

I think once a car leaves the showroom, ANY car cannot be tracked, and the manufacturer has ABSOLUTLY no say in how/where/why it might be used.

True for guy carrying 10 sheep in a tazz/i10, or ferrari taking kids to school/driving to pick up milk from the corner market

I just think its a publicity stunt, we will ban you from racing xyz car against abc car
How you gonna enforce it, not practical!

Im not saying its impossible to monitor a ferrari from overrev/wrong oil used, thats totally possible,
But racing a racing car? How you gonna stop that?

and the manufacturer has ABSOLUTLY no say in how/where/why it might be used

True for a normal car, you've no idea the contract Ferrari made these guys sign. The FXX for example you don't even take possession of, they bring it to you and take it home when you're done.

EDIT: if TG do this, Ferrari will have some idea whose car they used and pitch up and plug their laptops in, they'll find the cars location during filming and bam no more limited editions for you. Not to mention they'll bar TG from ever testing a Ferrari again.
