I think the stats for the MSN SA website might be skewed, since it is the default start up page for Internet Explorer?

WTF? Was there not exactly the same article, like a month or so?

Nice to see MyBB on both lists, not bad for a site aimed at a specific target market, unlike news24 which is aimed at all sectors (news, technology, sports, business etc.)

Google?
Gumtree?
Not listed on OPA audited stats :( Google.co.za will be no 1 while Gumtree is likely to rank in the top 5. Other big websites include ABSA, FNB, Standard Bank and BidorBuy.

Well I only look at mybb, if a mybb member posts a link to news24 I sometimes follow it.

If I'm not mistaken google.co.za is still hosted from America. I haven't even been able to access it with local cap.

i seem to remember there being an issue around netstats or analytics - sites which didn't use these weren't accounted for.
i guess there isn't really an accurate way of finding these statistics - since most dns requests are cached.
what would be more interesting is bounce rates - this would probably put most of these figures into perspective.

I may sound stupid, but who or how is the stats generated and how does it get submitted to OPA?
