So I lodged a complaint on HelloPeter after I received the umpteenth wrong Bill again.

My TopTV was installed and activated in July 2010, but I bought it May.

They have been charging me since May and I refused to pay anything, due to the buggers deducted amounts of up to R900 by debit order from my account.

Today I get home and see Service is Suspended?

Im also getting vengeance on them by going out to get DSTV back.

Gatvol of the old content(except the walking dead) and also major billing issues.

Im honestly not going to miss Top TV, and might Youtube a great way for my decoder to perish by placing it on the railway track nearby my house.

You are not alone Teraside as hellopeter has recently shown a flood of angry subscribers.
 
The billing dept sucks.
I disconnected in October as i was going overseas for over a month.
I was paying month to month and not on a debit order.
I packed the decoder away.
The idiots kept billing me for nov,dec, Jan. They sent me a statement.

When I plugged in the decoder I noticed it was still active so I called again and told them I stopped paying since October so why was the decoder active and I'm being charged. They said their system does not suspend you for not paying WTF ! They just keep on invoicing you.

The problem I have is that they keep Invoicing me since May. My decoder was only active and dish installed in half of July.

They don't seem to care and I can't make the payments either way since their starting point of Billing is stuffed. So I made payment for August and September and saw I was still billed incorrectly. I can't phone them, because they never answer and I don't have a running Contract either.

Worst of the worst is I just had my Dish reinstalled at my new place last week @ R250 and now I can't even watch television.

I don't even watch that much Television really. I think if I watch 7 hours a month it would be a lot, ok, I lie, I love the Simpsons and watch it every other night, but that's about it.

The rest of the shows are mostly repeats over and over again. I don't have money to go for a DSTV subscription :(
 
I just figured this out......
I have to give a calendar months notice when i cancel,so when my payment date comes i have to fork out another R220 for nothing since i will not be watching TopTV anymore.

However i could downgrade to the R99 variety deal and get two months worth of viewing instead of canceling right now and essentially paying a penalty.

This should give me ample time to cancel.(if they remember)
 
This is why I don't use debit orders generally.
 
Yikes...sounds like MTN might be a shareholder in Top TV looking at these billing issues :-)

Had a look this weekend on their website what stuff they have going on....I have to say...their Movie channels sucks donkey @SS. I really liked what I saw on their education channels though.
 
OMG!!!!!!!!

Today is the first day i ever received a statement from TOP TV and it says i owe them R930!!:mad::mad::mad:

This is now the fifth time i have tried to sort out these errors and am properly GATVOL!

Im going to send proof of payment from my internet banking, wait 30mins to make sure they receive my email and blast them out!!!!!

Roll on Consumer protection act!

I actually payed my normal amount to make absolutely sure i have canceled with them in effect from the 1 March.

Best R220 i ever spent.

This time my wife called whilst i bombarded them with proof of payment and we payed them live whilst on the phone and got a reference number for the termination of the contact on the first of March.

I actually felt for once that we had the upper hand on TOPTV.

Goodbye you incompetent fools who actually had the power to blacklist me for bad debt.

See you in hell with Neotel.

Such a shame as i could have stayed if i was treated better(besides the old shows/movies).
 
I have also experienced trouble cancelling.
Have been trying since Jan. Still not cancelled.

Well it looks like TopTV is not the way to go then. Who wants to subscribe to a service and to find out that you cannot cancel or get hold of them. Well it looks like I will be stuck with my current service provider which I :love: to bits :D
