If I have a current DSTV setup, is there the possibility to do a self installation?

As I understand it, al that is required is the realignment of the dish and possibly rotation of the LNB. Then I only need to activate my account with TopTV.

Can anyone provide precise information on doing a self install. In which direction should the dish point and the LNB be rotated?
 
It seems like I will have to move my current bracket used for DSTV. The bracket is currently on the side of my chimney and cannot turn to 4.8 degrees east without being blocked by the chimney. More holes eish
 
sirius 4 4.5 degrees east lnb for the rotate to 7 o clock

pas 7/10 68.5 degrees east lnb rotate to 4 o clock
 
OK my TopTV is working but I cannot get anyone at TopTV to talk to - to get it activated.
 
Just a note when TopTV start working - It downloads a software update - don not interrupt that - leave everything as it is until its finished - takes about 5 to 10 minutes.
 
OK - It must be activated first - That seems impossible because TOPTV is totally overwhelmed at the moment and I cannot get to talk to a human on the other side of their phone system.

Parental pin also does not accept 0000

Will this only work when activated?
atm my box only has SABC1-3 and ETV plus some nigerian channel
 
Hi, Does the dish face the same direction as DSTV, and would i just need to rotate the LNB or turn the dish a bit ?
 
Answers: Installation Pin is 0-0-0-0, I don't know what Parental Control Pin is. The Dish must be rotated according to settings provided by http://www.dishpointer.com/. This site will pinpoint your direction from your house.
 
The dish faces about 60 degrees more to the east than DSTV.

60 degrees WEST of DSTV dish

In other words - North ---->4.8E-------------------------->68.5E

So stand behind your dish and swing it LEFT - you will also have to TILT the dish further BACK at the top

0-0-0-0 does not work for me after the software update - according to the manual Parental Control PIN is 0-0-0-0 me thinks mine is fooked...
 
I got to be able to leave a message. for them to call me back , all the consultants are busy.

Sorry, it should have made sense that 60-odd degrees is further east that 4.
 
Is there any point in doing a DIY when this is included in the price. I will wait until they unbundle it and we can just buy a card.
 
Yippeee - My Top TV is now also activated - They tell me I'm the first to manage this all by myself with a DSTV dish.
