Am I allowed to post if I haven't yet had a successful install? It seems I'm the first person in East London who is going onto this thing.

So, the three accredited people you can contact if you'd like to be lucky number two:

Centurion Border: 043 743 4923
Installation Man: 082 659 8831 (russel)
Teleserve: 043 722 6627

None of these installers have received dishes from TopTV yet (and most of the other stores in EL have head nothing from TopTV yet) but they expect to get them in soon.

Most of the People I think, is using Sats-R-Us, I spoke to Ettiene from the Centurion branch on Saturday and he was very helpful, so I'm waiting patiently for my installation on Wednesday...

this guy knows exactly what to do and has all the correct equipment did my installation in less than a hour.Unlike some of the installers ho doesnt even know where to get the dish or which direction to face the dish

Yes post away if you know the installers know their stuff, some of the guys TOPTV sent by SMS does not even know that TTV has launched already.

Spoke with a TopTV consultant today. He asked if he could assist as I left them a message. I told him I bought my decoder on Saturday and he asked whether he could send an installer for me, or would I like to organize myself. Because I am situated in Nelspruit and don't know who is accredited for them here I opted to have TopTV send the installer of their choice. I asked him if I could sign up for my package I want and he said that I can do it with the installer, there's no problems. I confirmed with him that the installation is included with everything I need for one point, but should I require an additional it will be an extra fee. If it's not too rough I will definitely take an additional point.

I'm quite patient. Heavily itchy and excited to play with our toy, but patient. So yes, my experience is a bit different than everyone else.

I would just like to tell all the moaners. I read your posts while I was at work today and the guys out there with your bitching about TopTV is really an eyesore. We are excited and happy to have gotten a decoder, dish and satellite for flipping R499. This should cost us a minimum of R1500 or more in normal circumstances and I am bloody extremely thankful. So fricken thankful. THANK YOU TOPTV! ;) :D :p

Oh bother, of the 3 numbers toptv gave me, one was short a number, one wasn't aware that they had been designated installers and didn't have a clue how to find the satellite and the third had done his own on the weekend, hadn't gotten it to work and was waiting for toptv to get back to him. I am getting that sinking feeling.

Not at all impressed with this guy. Promised to let me know if he was going to be late, then phones me half an hour after he is due, to tell me he has been having a problem with his eqipment. Tells me he is now on his way and will arrive within half an hour. Hour and a half later he calls to tell me he is still having a problem with his equipment and is going somewhere else to have it checked out, but will call me in a couple of hours to make a new time to do the installation. No surprise to me when I did not hear from him again.

My experience with my installer - He told me on tuesday he would come but stood me up, but the next day he was @ my house @ 7am on the dot. The most funny thing he ran out of petrol while driving to the supplier.

The installation is included in the cost of the decoder. (R499).
Your installer should not be charging a fee for a default install.

However, if you want a higher quality cable then you need to pay the difference in price. Eg: The standard cable is R2/meter whereas the high-quality cable is R5/meter. You pay the R3/meter difference.
Also, the free installation only covers a maximum of 25 meters of cable. Anything longer than that is at your own cost.
Note: I have seen reports of installers only covering a maximum of 20 meters so be sure to confirm beforehand if you know you may need more than that.

Hi there

Can they instal the TopTV to more than one tv? How will I know how much cable I need?
