I was thinking of making one thread containing TopTV Related news, at this stage there are 5 threads running and the queries and comments are all over.

THIS ONE being the most active

On that note My Installation is happening this afternoon... Thanx to DELEVEX and Sats-R-Us Centurion!

TopTV is such a hot topic, it's unrealistic to expect to have ALL discussions in a single thread.
 
Maybe We need to speak to RPM for toptv to have it's on sub forum - so all members are clued up what's happening

My installation was done last night round about 7pm, I sent an sms with all my details to 40008 a few moments after that. My TopTv was activated a few hours ago. Im so excited!!! But I havent recieved an sms to rate my installer....Im gonna give him a 5.
 
How long does Top Tv take to send the SMS after i have registered? Still waiting for my installer details
 
Mine's installed and activated, where do I get the banking details to make payment? Or will the first payment go off automatically with debit order?
 
0860086788 is constantly engaged for me, anyone else having this issue? Tried from my cell and landline.
 
First payment must be made manually within 48 hours of activation.

Ref: Your ref number. Normally starts with a bunch of zeros. Eg. 000 000 123.

You don't need a branch code as Standard Bank use a universal one.

Unless you are aware that if you get connected you might be on hold for long and calling using cellphone will be much expensive than landline. i advice make use of that redail button (telkom landline) eventualy you will squeeze in ... Gudluck
 
Anyone getting a "fussy" picture with toptv? Mine was fine last night, but today all the channels are bad.. Like dstv in bad weather? Anyone else have this prob?

Here's a trick I tried and it worked great for me. Instead of dialling that call centre no rather dial this one:

011 582 9802 (this is to ODM directly)

It'll then ask if you have extension no

Key in 1001

and you'll then theoretically "jump" the queue and you won't get constantly engaged and dropped call after please leave your details and we'll call you back.

I used this trick and was on hold (...music...) for about 30 minutes and someone finally picked up and registered me, gave me a customer no, sent me 2 SMSs with accredited installer details, and then lastly gave me their banking details for my EFT payments plus my account/ref no.

Phew! This after I purchased the decoder last Saturday and have been struggling to phone into their call centre!

Booked installation already and I hope it materialises tomorrow afternoon.
 
dish installed this afternoon, but now cant get it activated since i cant get through to TOPTV call cent. !!!! not cool not cool at all

It seems like that setup is in widescreen? But previously, everyone said that TopTV was all 4:3? Can anyone clarify?

Also, that article mentions 50 more channels to come (10 HD)? How is that going to work with the current decoder which only has composite video output? Maybe a new decoder will be required for HD?
