TP-LINK TD-W9980

Hi all,
Just got this router, very happy with it so far.
Has anyone used a wifi range extender with the Guest wifi? Experience?
 
Hi,

Telkom has confirmed i have VDSL but cannot for the life of me get this router to sync successfully.
On ADSL2+ i get 17mb down and 0.8mb up but it does not sync at all if i put it on VDSL.
I have tried the VLAN ID of 835 but to no avail.

Is there anything i am maybe missing in the other settings of my router or some way to read the connection statistics?

Hi Stefan,

If you are able to sync on ADSL2, telkom have not set the VDSL profile correctly.

You need to call Telkom or PM a Telkom Rep to get your profile changed.
 
Hi Guys,

So between the TP-Link W9980 Dual band and the Billion Triple WAN B-7800DXL, which would be the better option? Couple of Rands difference on Takelot.com. I need a dual band to get XBOXOne off the internet signal for TV and laptops/tablets. Will either of these really make a big difference? I currently have a flaky Buffalo 300MBps I have to restart every day...

I have this exact same issue. Did you come right with Telkom?
