TP-LINK TD-W9980

A friend forwarded me an email from his supplier of TP-Link and they stated that the W9980 was EoL and the Archer is the replacement, interesting considering the Archer does not support VDSL and the W9980 is only available in the UK later on this month.

So I think if you want a TP Link VDSL router best is to try get now while some people might still have stock.
Unless the supplier had no clue what they were talking about.

Corex?

I know a guy who works at Corex. Pop me a PM with your email and I will forward you his details.

Or just find out whether they have stock and if not, whether they will be getting stock in anytime soon? :D

There seems to be some regulatory hiccup. It should still release in the future. I hope.

The best would be to contact the rep, kernel, here on MyBB.
Some products have more room to maneuver than others. I got a very good discount on my W8970, but I think it was on its way out.
I think I got it for between R200.00 - R300.00 less than its advertised price.
Also using the 8970 and loving it!!

Prices have come down significantly on this router. Very good value...

Anyone actually used a 9980 (or reflashed 8980) for VDSL? I have one and upgraded to VDSL but I cant authenticate on the network (line syncs just fine) not sure if it is the modem or if Telkom screwed up the VDSL upgrade.

Cant test in ADSL mode since even my old ADSL modem will not sync on this line - bloody telkom have left me hanging for 4 days now

Wrong section, those are ADSL and not VDSL. This is the VDSL section :P

Check what chipsets they use, if I am not mistaken TP Link made use of some Trendchip chipsets which most people dislike, especially if you aren't right next to the exchange.

I only use TP-Link for networking, great reliable products that do the job well..
