TPLink Time Load Balancing Guide with B315 LTE Routers

The only reason I used a dedicated load balancer was because I couldn't find a cost effective dual sim solution. In theory any routing device capable of time based switching should work. Not sure if that AP device can do it though?
 
Hi guys,

I've read this post for the same money saving idea and got 2x R470T+'s with a bunch of other routers, switches, and AP's (some used, some new) for R1500. What a bargain, all tested and working.
I've tried to follow the OP's settings but this interface differs a bit, I did a firmware update but it's still different. These models are V.4, could you guys confirm what yours are? Have any one else done this setup on V.4 and got it right?
I've worked around the differences with most settings except the policy, its completely different and I've got no idea what to fill in there.
Note the left column difference, and where the policy tab is found. I also don't see a routing table.

Did you save those settings? If you look at the rules table at the bottom nothing has been saved.
 
I've tried this with the router in WAN 1, it is in the time slot to not be used but it still stays on, I've tried inverting the times to cancel out any error but still stays on. I've left the IP addresses on all zeros as well as the correct IP's, still stays the same, I'm sure I'm just missing something somewhere but not sure where and what.

There are two models of the TL-R470T+. One has the ports on the back (possibly an older model) and the other is on the front (like mine which I got from Takealot late last year).

I think you're in the wrong section, that looks like port forwarding. Delete those rules and set it up in Routing/Policy Routing:

Thanks for checking yours to verify, my ports are at the back, but I see there's still new ones available with ports at the back that's why I think its better to reference the version number found on the sticker underneath the device. In your case you navigate Transmission->Routing->Policy Routing. In my case it seems to be Advanced->Load Balancing->Policy Routing, attached is a clip showing I've only got one tab under Advanced->Routing. Also I don't have a tab called Transmission that I can see.

The photo on Takealot is the old one. I actually complained about it after receiving it as I don't like ports on the front. So if you order it new it won't look like that.

As our experience is with the new version, If you post images of all the pages and tabs in Networks and Advanced (Load Balance and Routing) maybe we can help.

What is you setup? Also an LTE router on the WAN port(s)? Did you set up the IP addresses as per Kosmik's OP?
 
My setup is on WAN 1 a Huawei B315 LTE router with Rain as ISP, WAN 2 a Huawei B618 LTE router with Axxess as ISP. As much as I could (Tabs and sub tabs being different) I did try to follow the OP's setup yes.
I don't want to flood the thread so here's what I think you would want to see but if I missed something I'll post it as well, just shout.

Looks about right hey. Just not sure why you specified the Load Balance/Policy Routing Src & Dest IP for WAN1 but not WAN2. Rather leave it blank (wildcard) for both.

Oh that was me still trying to get it to work, I will leave it blank as it's default was yes..
 
Also I see there is an Active/Inactive option there. Long shot but maybe you need to have four entries:
1. WAN1 active time
2. WAN1 inactive time
3. WAN2 active time
4. WAN2 inactive time

Dunno, our setup is pretty straight forward and works well. Only issue I have is when I try to overlap, i.e. WAN1 is limited time and WAN2 is 24h, it doesn't work correctly.
 
In active /active won't work, it will complain about duplicate entries. Can you show the routing section? Your only posting the load balancing and I suspect that because it's not enabled, the other segment is not being used.

What is the version numbers of your devices? It's below the device next to the serial, mine is V.4. Its running the latest firmware, I updated it this afternoon via the TP-L website..

Btw this hardware model has a US and international firmware version.
 
Is the actual ip range how you got it set out at both times set to 0.0.0.0? Maybe set the upper range limit to 255.
