Dont need to convert to local tracking number anymore. Just use the international tracking number, it works even directly on SAPO tracker.
 
Theres a post office app now that gives you notifications
 
Check ur app store. Only got it yesterday and its a brand new app. No idea how well it works

If it's anything like their website has been for the last 5yrs or so then it should be awesome. :l

Checked it days ago already and no, it does not work. Must be bolted onto the old tech that .. well .. does not work.

Ditto. They have money to throw at an app (paying someone to do it) but not to fix their broken website.

My tracking number breaks their site every time.

Error: 5 ~ON~ý Index was outside the bounds of the array.

My mxq from gearbest was mostly delayed by the post office/customs. The order was shipped out on the 8th of May. The international tracking number went live on the 10th of May. Their tracking then showed "Order received into final destination country" by the 20th. Local tracking only started on the 26th. It was transferred to capemail fairly quickly but then sat awaiting assignment to a shelf forever. Customs seemingly cannot assess the parcel before it has been assigned to a shelf. The parcel finally arrived at my post office on the 15th of June and was collectable (assigned a parcel number) within hours of arriving.
 
Gearbest had a Netherlands tracking number. Breaks the post office website.
 
Maybe I should add, the international tracking numbers only work if they are in the International tracking standard, usually XX#########XX where the 1st 2 XX is some priority standard, and the last 2 the country, if not in this format it wont work.

Also it only works on SAPO tracker, once it has reached South Africa, not the international part.

Which is why the "Deliveries" application on android is by far the best tracking app. You add it first with the original postal company, and then you add a 2nd courier to the code, and specify SAPO. Then it notifies you while it is still overseas, then as soon as it hit SA the newer updates come from SAPO. Works great for me, because I add it once, and forget and just wait for the notifications from the Deliveries app.

ps. Deliveries app also do all the other countries AND couriers all over the world, great all in one tracking app.

Did not know about the second courier option in Deliveries. Just did this to track my parcel. Thanks for the tip.

regarding NL post....
the SAPO tracking will only work once the package is in the country!

Track on:
http://www.postnl.post/
once it says:
The item has arrived in the country of destination
give it a few days...and then
track on the SAPO site.
