What music do you listen to and why?
How does it make you feel?
Does it uplift you?
Does it inform you( this doesn't apply to those who already know it all and they don't need to post here)

Currenly listening to Nas and Damian Marley because the music once you start listening to it uplifts .

I enjoy trance. If its intelligently and well produced, ill class it as good as any type of music. Uplifting? Its all relative. If the music is really good, then sure. But just as you get really terrible commercial music on the radio, so too do you get really bad trance.

i loved trance and rave except couldn't tell the difference..i was more into the hard house scene B.K, paul glazby
plz do enlighten what is the difference, where is the midline, isn't trance a form of rave and so the latter.
kuk i jus confused myself

I like slower trance eg Armin Van Buuren, as well as psytrance eg infected mushroom.

progressive trance pooky....

i only listen to progressive

the albums the guys make like markus shultz, gareth emery, dash berlin, aly and fila , armin van buuren are very much progressive upliftment trance with lots of vocals and instruments

when you hear them play live they play to the crowd and thats when magic happens ...everything from upliftment to hard psy trance ...can get crazy

but for me i can sit and work with a set of one of the djs and be happy ...dont need drugs as i can feel the music and i understand it

Ex-raver and a bit of a Vortex-koppie in my Cape Town years, so I love any form of trance.

Allow me to put this here for those who want to broaden their horizons.

May I add trance just is not uplifting. its emotional. I have listened to sets by a friend of mine who mixes and I can clearly hear what mood he is in when he mixes.

For those into progressive with a psy edge, you will dig Neelix's stuff... his Live Mix from Dec 2009 (think it may have been from Australia) is a gem if you can find it.

Funky House
Garage
Drum and Bass
Progressive (Armin van Buuren , Paul van Dyk , Timo Maas , Paul Oakenfold etc)

Industrial (mauro picotto and generally most of the BXR record releases)

Nice!! Yeah, it's slightly crazy what one can find on the net!!!

I've spent probably close to R100k on 1st vinyls and then cd's over the last 25 years. Bought my 1st 7 single for R2.99 back in 1983, Depeche Mode's Get the balance right.

Nowadays!!!!! Well........ Sacrilege!!!! Head over to the local file sharing site and take what you want!!!

Goodness, I've just been overcome with an overwhelming sense of guilt... Give me a minute....
