I've searched online but have not found an answer and it's not available on USSD (*135#) where I can locate it.

Is it possible yet to transfer contract data on Vodacom yet, as per the incoming ICASA regulations? And if it is, what are the limits?

How can you cancel a data sim card with Vodacom, when you are overseas? The email address they gave me last year does not exist anymore and the numbers are unavailable from overseas. I cannot call any Vodacom, nor can I email them. So they just keep deducting month to month the fees from my account, without me using the sim card for one second.

  1. Dial *135# and select 'Buy bundles and services'.
  2. Select 'Data bundles'.
  3. Select 'For another number'.
  4. Enter recipient's Vodacom number.
  5. Select the data bundle to transfer.

It says I must call 082 135 (not that the USSD screen names are exactly what you mention). I call it and cannot find such an option on the menus. I eventually go through to an agent and they say it is not allowed and data transfers are not alllowed.

@Bradley Prior maybe MyBBcan do an article on if Vodacom is ready for allowing data transfers as per new regulations, and HOW it works, for example on data contract vs voice contracts vs prepaid, and what the limits are.

urgh, that sucks.

I did a test. Loaded a databundle on my topup flexi 110 contract. Expiry data is still end of the month. Then I went into the USSD menu *135#, selected Services then next and finally Data Transfer. Then it says I don't have any bundles active that I can transfer. It does give an option to load a transfer recipient. So I selected that, went through the process to add another vodacom number (prepaid) and then finally received a message that the number loaded is not compatible with my priceplan.

So basically it looks like Vodacom is being Vodacom and giving us "rollover" and "data transfer", by hiding it deep within its menus and then having a ton of restrictions so that they barely comply with Icasa's regulations. Sigh....

Does anyone know how to transfer data on a 3G card? because I don't have a physical phone for the 3G card.

Vodascum is at it again trying to make it as difficult as it can for customers to transfer data.

Has anyone figured out how the actual f to transfer data yet?

That *135# way of transferring has been around for years, I'm no convinced that the new regulations has anything to do with that option.

Still haven't found a way to transfer data, I have a 10gb a month contract and when I go to the *135# option it tells me I have no data bundle available to transfer.

No one at Vodacom I've spoken to knows anything about the new regulations... ai.

@jannievanzyl , maybe you know why the option doesn't show? And maybe you can have a colleague who is boss of the call center people who can inform them of the ICASA regulations so they stop being so clueless.
