Yes this is how their ADSL helpline works.
1) It's the customer's fault, they've done something to screw up their connection. Have them redo their settings.

if they tell /me that I have to reformat and reinstall, I'll "do" it and tell 'em it made no difference![]()
So, according to Telkodemonopolies, the SAFE cable was [allegedly] damaged? On Friday, Telkom lost a third of its international bandwidth when its submarine cable to Malaysia broke. Telekom Malaysia is working on the problem.
Telkom advises its customers to reset their modem to the default factory settings and then reconfigure it to their preferred settings.
Maybe they were fixing something that occurred before they arrived
But yeah I agree, their call centers really do suck.
ok ok ok people calm down. I have it from a reliable source that the call center issues should be resolved shortly. Telkom have applied to telkom for an additional 100 lines to be put into their call center. It shouldnt be more than 2 months before the lines are installed. that is if all goes well and telkom has someone available to be at the premises when the telkom techie arrives.
