Tripping on LSD - what's it like ?

Never drive while on a hallucinogen. Ever! Lost a close mate because of this some years ago. Driver was tripping and completely mis-judged the intersection - truck slammed into the passenger side and instantly killed my mate. His body was found 25metres away after he bounced off the truck's tyre. Not cool to suggest driving on acid is OK. It simply isn't.

Tried it once - didn't like it. I prefer to feel in control of my body and I didn't feel I had that on acid. Many moons ago though - clean now...

I trip twice a year! I use it as a 'clean out' session, for me its incredibly therapeutic. I used to be a part of ravesafe so I know how to consume drugs responsibly :wtf: :D

Ha ha ha ha h ah ah ah ahahahhahahhahahahahahaahhahaaa.........

Call me the freak out brigade if you so desire but having lived in London commune for 3 years I feel perfectly qualified to laugh out loud at that!

It amazes me how the experts are always those who have never touched the stuff.

Sorry to hear about that. Glad there is at least one person who agrees with me.

What's so funny?

It's like... different for everyone but that experience in and of itself is powerful enough to connect millions of people all over the planet.

If you are interested in trying it, see if you can find someone who will give it to you (an older, hippie parent or something) as opposed to someone who sees it as an item of commerce. This will directly affect not only the quality of what you get but also the experience itself as it is unlikely that someone who will gift you a hit or two will do so without providing at least rudimentary instruction.

At least... that's what I hear from people who are into this stuff.

EDIT: please do not drive on any mind altering substance... ****, I have seen people freak out just from drinking coffee in bad traffic!

How does it 'feel'? It feels like your thoughts are melting as they come out - at a vertiginous speed. And if you try to collect them together, even to remember what you just thought, you start to panic. So you have to let go of any possibility of making sense of what's going on around or inside of you. A bad trip is something I wouldn't wish on anybody. A good trip is like a fun version of a bad trip.

As is often the case LancelotSA: you are very mistaken.

Your experiences qualify you to comment on how not to consume drugs responsibly, not the other way round. ;)

Because there are some people who are not responsible it does not follow that everyone who decide to use drugs are irresponsible. Logic fail.

(grammar fail, I know :o)

Yes, and I have also heard people claiming that they are not addicted. They could stop when ever they wanted. They were only taking cos they wanted to. The end results proved otherwise.

Claiming that there is such a thing as responsible drug taking could lead to impressionable youngsters thinking it is acceptable. Rather condemn drug use and use it yourself in private if you want. No point in trying to glamourise it!

I personally dont like it...it is drawn out too long, I dont like the feeling that i might be losign control (even though i know it is highly unlikely to happen) and some of the images when it comes to the end of the trip is not great..

I would much rather prefer candy flipping, the E mellows the acid out and you tend to get the best of both worlds.....
If you are thinking of it, I would very strongly suggest doing it with ppl you can trust and who have done it before. And doing it at home..
It is very easy to mess with ppl on acid, and if your friends are idiots, they can make the experience very unpleasant.....

I'll take honesty and education over punishment and secrecy any day, but that's just me. And Portugal.

If I can give you one piece of advice for trying it the first time, do not do it publicly. Do it in a "safe" environment with people who have experience with the stuff. It's not like dropping E where you just get a light feeling and wanna party - it's far more intense. And if anyone tells you it doesn't work the first time, punch them in the face, repeatedly...

I dont think he is glamousing drug taking, he is merely pointing out the fact that it can be done with a touch of responsiblity.
If anyone asks me what its like, and genuinely wants to know, I tell them...I tell them how it feels, how it feels when it goes wrong, what you should look out for etc.....
I have seen plenty of drug use, and i would say a large portion of the ppl actually used it recreationally for 1 - 2 yrs before moving on.

While we at it, lets condemn drinking, smoking, porn, allowing woman to work, etc, etc, etc.

I have no problem with the two in bold being condemned. I will add that they are, however, (unfortunately) legal. The latter two I cannot see where the issue lies.

Exactly, but there will be someone who'd like to see the latter two condemned.

How are you to decide what other people get to do? (not specifically you, but anyone).

I'm pretty sure alcohol related deaths in teenagers is WAY higher than acid related deaths :p

LOL. I don't think anybody is glamourising it here - if anything, people are being honest about it, which is far better than what you're advocating. If somebody wants to try drugs, they will do so whether you've condemned it or not. In fact the condemnation act itself pokes the rebellion gene in nearly every teenager/impressionable youngster.

There most certainly is a distinction that must be drawn between responsible and irresponsible drug use. And talking openly about it will in my opinion, lead to far more responsible drug use for those inclined to try it. Those not inclined are not going to find themselves drawn to it because some folk on the interwebz talked openly about using drugs responsibly. I definitely do not think this qualifies as "glamourising" it in any way. What you're advocating is complete condemnation of the stuff, regardless of whether one can actually provide information that might save someone's life (i.e. do not drive while on acid). That's not a very responsible way of looking at things imo...

We are getting off topic and onto something that was discussed extensively in a thread before but the bottom line is that the one is illegal and the other isn't. The one is therefore regulated, with consequences for the manufacturers, while the other isn't. This does not mean the one is less destructive, or dangerous, than the other but that is the way it is. The argument to make drugs legal because alcohol is also does not hold water with me as a line has to be drawn somewhere. Ideally that line should be drawn before any addictive substance but it is not so.

It would be great to live in a world where it was a free for all and we could all decide freely what we would and wouldn't like to do but unfortunately we all know that this would not work.
