Damn you guys! Now you got me into wanting to do LSD![]()
We are getting off topic and onto something that was discussed extensively in a thread before but the bottom line is that the one is illegal and the other isn't. The one is therefore regulated, with consequences for the manufacturers, while the other isn't. This does not mean the one is less destructive, or dangerous, than the other but that is the way it is. The argument to make drugs legal because alcohol is also does not hold water with me as a line has to be drawn somewhere. Ideally that line should be drawn before any addictive substance but it is not so.
It would be great to live in a world where it was a free for all and we could all decide freely what we would and wouldn't like to do but unfortunately we all know that this would not work.

I'm afraid we differ in this respect. I think of it in terms of my children questioning drug use. I am not going to advocate the responsible use of drugs to them. I'll point out to them that it is illegal. I'll point out the dangers associated with drug use. I will refrain from talking about the cool, trippy, wayout feelings they could experience while under the influence. These will just make them more curious.
Yes, some of you were good enough to point out that bad trips do happen and they are not at all pleasant. The trouble is being with friends at home does not negate the chance of this happening. I know.
I have a number of UK mates who still have some psychological issues that they personally are convinced are as a result of their London drug use. Yes, talking about things can be beneficial but if there are negatives I think they need to be stressed. Too many people talking about their experiences, in my opinion, creates an illusion that it is fine to do as everyone else is.
If I can give you one piece of advice for trying it the first time, do not do it publicly. Do it in a "safe" environment with people who have experience with the stuff. It's not like dropping E where you just get a light feeling and wanna party - it's far more intense. And if anyone tells you it doesn't work the first time, punch them in the face, repeatedly...
consequences for the manufacturers? How so? I make the choice to drink, therefore its all my fault if something goes wrong? The manufacturer has no responsibility to me except some warning label to advise me to drink responsibily....hardly useful.... I guess you could make the argument that because drugs are not regulated, you are not sure what exactly you are putting in your body..
Acid/E related deaths are tiny, and usually due to mixing drugs (mainly alcohol) or dehydration.
Lance what is the most addictive drug on the planet?
I'll give you a hint, you can buy it everywhere legally.

So doing it with friends who also haven't done it is a big no-no?
definitely not, and trust me when i say this, friends who like screwing with each other will be bad news for your first time...
make sure you are somewhere where you feel comfortable, relaxed, have a good vibe and friends who rock. I have talked ppl out of bad experiences or calmed them down when they had issues..
If yuo have never had any kind of drugs, i would also say acid is prob not the best thing to do....it can be a bit intense..
As correctly covered by you in the second half of your post I was referring to the ingredients used. SAB is highly unlikely to mix horse sedatives into their beers. We could of course also add in the crime empires that are also fed by drugs being illegal.
.
The crime empires i agree with....and it is a large downside..
as for the odd mixes in the drugs....To be honest, drug dealing is a repeat and word of mouth business...if something goes wrong, the guy can seriously lose all his business..
the random mix could happen...but if you read studies on what is usually in them, and studies on death related incidents from drugs like E and acid...its a very small risk when compared to risks fro smoking and drinking...I would say the first time taking is prob the most dangerous...
Bottom line, OP, is that you have absolutely no idea how it is going to affect you personally. Worse case scenario, you really enjoy it and become a druggy craving that first time feeling again. Best case scenario it is like hell, you have a really crap time, think you are going to die, and you never touch the stuff again.![]()
I really don't see why lsd must be illegal. I found I have more controll over myself than I do when drunk. I have never blacked out on it.
