Truth behind Praag Google ad issues

No specific remarks, just general tone. Much like the Red October march was not specifically racist, but it's tone was.

So then how about some examples demonstrating this "general tone"? Sorry to be such a pain: I'm just trying to understand the situation better.

The claim that this is due to the site being in Afrikaans smells like BS to me ... there are numerous other Afrikaans sites that embed Google Ads (e.g. http://www.soek-afrikaans.co.za/), are they all going to have their accounts terminated? I don't think so.

I don't know what was on the Praag site, maybe it was racist, but if you're going to terminate an account for a hate speech ToS violation, at least be honest about the reason instead of stonewalling with vague corporate BS-speak and reasons that don't really make sense. My guess: They didn't understand the site's content enough to be able to make a proper determination, decided to shut the account 'just in case' on the basis of complaints, now want to cover their asses because legal is probably concerned about being sued for loss of revenue if they shut an account for a ToS violation when it didn't actually violate the ToS.

The "truth" behind the d issues have noot been revealed. More conjecture and speculation, nothing more.

This is retarded.
Facebook hosts racists groups, racist commentary, google links to it, and google+ contains it, picasa contains it...

Microsoft Access, how quaint!

Well, this could always happen:
[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver]General error Unable to open registry key 'Temporary (volatile) Jet DSN for process 0x1868 Thread 0x1750 DBC 0x216439c Jet'.

I had a look for 30 seconds on the sight and immediately saw Volkstaad - i.e. lets make a country for white Afrikaans people only. That is a pretty big flag right there and pretty overt.

Google have the right to remove their adds or refuse their service to anyone. If there is a hint or even a chance of a site being perceived as Resist, then they would be stupid not to remove their adds.
Not saying this site violated the rule or are being unfairly challenged, google have plenty of Afrikaans speaking employees that can have a look at the site.

Good luck with that...... Cyber crime is still a mystery here in SA. Have you seen/heard of any convictions. If yes, please share

Very naive view from the owners of the website that criminal charges against a DDoS attack will amount to anything. Depending on the ISP attacked you will hardly have any evidence of the whole attack pattern and in all instances DDoS attacks are purchased on the black market and executed through botnets. In the best case you will find an innocent user running a backdoor trojan executing DDoS. Even if SAPS is equipped to track the IP, you will find that prosecution will be pointless.

Hi

Please can you give some concrete examples of the alleged racist remarks? Thanks.

Regards,
Sodan

Watter normale en intelligente witmens sal homself / haarself nou nog wil steur aan 'n vervloekte baster half-aap goffel-geelbek se- dzou-mááá -se gekots op Mitchellsplein se straathoeke ? Boesman Jansen is irrelevant. Punt !

Might not be directly published by the site, but if you were to post a similar comment on news24 or M&G, it would get moderated.

Link to the article...can't just quote things out of context.

Looks like a desperate attempt at finding proof of the alleged racism.

Hehehe, you sound a lot like old Mac.

So please do explain in what context this quote would be remotely acceptable?

The right to a community's self determination is supposedly enshrined in the UN charters. Why would this be any different than Israel, or indeed half a dozen other peoples equally recognized rights to self determination, e.g. South Sudan? It is not inherently racist for a culture to want to preserve itself.

That's a comment on the site, not content. Based on that criteria news24 and iol should be banned - have you read the comments on those sites?

I think the point is even though those two sites are riddled with bad stuff, even this would be seen as too far.

Wow, you use Israel as an example of how things should be done. Really? Have you polled the people who live in the proposed Orania area if they are keen for it? I don't mean the land owners, but the actual people, now consider they average person in those areas votes ANC.

Please don't think the thin veil of "culture" will cover bigots and racists. One communities right to self determination does not trump the human rights of another. If this was just about community and culture why would you need borders? Surely people can freely move to any area they like and form a community while respecting the law and the rights of others?

Israel and Sudan as examples. Wow.

I never said it was acceptable, context is important nonetheless. Jansen substantially supports what could compromise the university quality - which made a lot of people very angry.

I read a few articles on that website, the authors attack the government and their abysmal failures more than anything else.
