So SITA is running Squid 2.5 Stable 14, when the current latest release is 3.2...

I'm pretty sure there are a few exploits in Squid 2.5 that haven't been patched just yet.

Wait, they've made it unhackable by shutting down the server?

Also, pretty sure it's reverse proxy, not inverse. Idjits.

Doubt it, normally in linux stuff it patched right away.

At least it's not a totally open proxy and the usual ports are blocked. That's something right?

Nope. Only vulnerabilities that are known
Yeah, in linux cause its open source, most vulnerabilities are known.

When a vulnerability is exposed patches normally come out in hours or at the most a day (though there are very exceptions). Unlike Apple and Microsoft where you sometimes wait months to years for it to get patched.

Brought security expert in I see. He smoked matric with a solid 30% pass and therefore must be competent.

So...who's up for electronic voting next vote? :D

I wait with dreadful anticipation of the day e-Nazi get hacked and the database getting scrambled... with a track record like that it is bound to happen.
