Im trying to cancel my current month 2 month contract with iBurst - I'm getting a new one sponsored by work through tradepage :)

I sent a fax (7th May) and got a response from Taryn Chetty saying the retentions dept will get hold of me.. they didn't... I asked her to just make it happen and she referred me to the retentions dept again ... still no phone call

I tried calling .... but I couldn't wait on hold for that long... How the heck do I make sure my account gets cancelled?

Just keep phoning her until she gets so disgusted with you regularly phoning her that she'll start to pressure people to do it.

Alternatively, can the work take your contract over?

What I cannot fathom is why, if you are intent on cancelling the contract you should have to wait for the retentions to call you. They are not the ones who handle cancellations, but the ones who try and retain your business.

Do as the above othe rmembers mentioned, but when you speak to her next advise her that there is no need for you to speak to a department that will try and retain your business as you are cancelling the contract in any event.

I got a call from Phillip when the whole debacle arose about the paying to benefit from the new rates. I am still waiting for him to send through the correspondence he promised as well as to be moved to the package that he said he was going to move me to. (that was ages ago)

iBurst are manned by a bunch of incompetents who's only aim is to get their salaries at the end of the month. EVERYTHING else is secondary.

Oi! This is not the kind of thing i want to read on the day faxed through my cancellation forms....

I just had my ADSL installed and happy that i can finally wave bye bye to iBurp. . . . or can i?

I faxed the forms through, I guess I will have to call them and follow up.

*Sigh*

I would take a drive to their office in Sandton... it's the only sure way you can ensure that those monkies will process your cancellation...

P.S take a baseball bat just incase

Thats the only way I could cancel, they ignored me every other way. It's a 10min process, but be careful - they tried to charge me a cancellation fee for my m2m...

A cancellation fee?

Well they have now acknowledged the receipt of my cancellation docs, didn’t mention a fee, and my god they better not because I will seriously hulk out! End of June and I will part with my last mega bite from these arangutangs! yay! ;)

they tried to charge me a cancellation fee for my m2m...

well they tried to charge me R699 for a contract that I signed 3 years ago... which the contract was a 2 year contract...

so not surprised there
