Tshwane gets free WiFi

All it translates to, is free porn for the masses.

I gave our workers a old PC to "educate themselves" with, it's had all kinds of typing apps and word-education apps on it.... guess what was the first thing they did when I turned my back. They found the web-browser, and were searching tits and ass.

Western Society is driven to educate them/ourselves. The same does not hold true for African society.

If you don't want your workers to do that, the only way is to employ women only. No matter where men are from, T&A are always better than being productive and learning something. (I don't know what the women will get up to, maybe pictures of kittens and babies?)

First thing I did with my first PC...

This

That's certainly not unique to African society. Don't fool yourself.

and this.

These clowns cannot even read a bloody electricity meter without messing it up. Now they want to roll out wifi. They should rather spend their money on changing the street names back to the correct ones as ordered by the courts months ago.

Listen here you grumpy old man. No matter what they do you will never be happy. You and your type will always bitch and moan.

This is a step in the RIGHT direction. Access to all.

What do you mean me and my type. I live in Pretoria, unlike you, and see daily how our municipality spending millions on projects that is doomed from the start. Municipal rates are skyrocketing to sponsor freeloaders all around Pretoria. (Yes! It it still Pretoria even after numerous attempts to change it)

I agree - Wireless is a step in the right direction, if it was sustainable. This project is once again doomed from the start. Just another opportunity for tender fraud. Rather spend our money on fixing roads and building schools.

Me and my type will stop bitching if our municipality and government start delivery the services we are paying for.

AKC Junior is behind the initiative - same driving force that was behind the Stellenbosch project (which could hardly be called a success). Hopefully this will be more carefully thought through. The main thing is learning to work collaboratively with the right stakeholders - not only city officials but those who really know what they are talking about. There is significant experience around academic connectivity and wireless rollout.

I certainly wouldn't call anyone who makes bigoted, racist comments such as this one "educated" in the true sense of the term

Giving people internet is education. The average South African teacher can't even spell teach, where as on the internet you can join a course run by Harvard and the likes, for free.

I sincerely hope that you don't believe what you typed... If you do, then you need to "spend some more time on the internet".

Im with Skerminkel, IBIWISI after the Stellenbosch attempts im doubtful that people can get this off the ground. Probably easier o get the phone companies to give away 500MB of data to all or similar.
Im surprised to hear AKC junior is inolved, one would have thought people would have learnt by now. He really is teflon coated. Sooo whos getting this off the ground? Maybe cloudseed could sort it, not sure about others.
