Hope this is not a repeat of another thread...

So I'm turning 40 this year any other '79 babies on here?

I really don't see it as any sort of milestone I feel pretty much the same as I did when I was 27. I'm curious to know what the rest of you think about this magical (pffft) birthday?

Nothing Magical about it, though my turn is next year.... I did notice though that from around 25 time seemed to have sped up quite a bit.

I wonder if it has something to do with the fact that our brains stops remapping itself at that stage? I know it's an oversimplification of what actually happens but hey it's 8am...

Possibly ... Can also be that we are just getting too busy living the rat race.

/Hasn't turned 40
/Speaks as if from experience

Life begins dude!
Haha I feel like I have been there more than once... I work with kids half my age and they make me feel twice my age some days.

" I feel pretty much the same as I did when I was 27".

Pffffft I dare you to go do an evening of heavy partying and report back. Recovery times a loooot longer than at 27

Still do it from time to time and my recovery time is just fine thank you.:sneaky:

I'll get there soonish - you're right in that it's just another year but hey, doesn't hurt to celebrate it a bit more than the others.
I definitely don't feel the same as I did when I was 27 and I thankfully don't act the same way as well.
In that movie This is 40 they say that the period from when you're 40 is supposed to be the happiest - have a bit more cash, you know yourself, kids are maybe out of diapers and need less of your time etc. We'll see. It does tend to bring our the reflection in us though.

I have given up on the partying...

My wife turns 29 tomorrow and she has been complaining about the last few years flying by as well... I am sure this is more due to our busy lives.

Only attention-seeking millennials would see turning 40 as being "magical".

EDIT: attention-seeking is redundant in this context.

We are not mellenials.

Generation X: Born 1965-1982
Millennials: Born 1983-1996

I chose 27 for a reason. I was quite a bit more of an idiot before then. Hoping for the bit more cash part :p

Turned 40 a few weeks back. Not much changed! Feeling pretty decent for 40 but feeling that some stuff is slowing down (mainly my metabolism). Mostly happy that I have made 40 circuits around the sun without stuffing up too badly or falling off planet earth.
