Turning 40

Turned 40 a few weeks back. Not much changed! Feeling pretty decent for 40 but feeling that some stuff is slowing down (mainly my metabolism). Mostly happy that I have made 40 circuits around the sun without stuffing up too badly or falling off planet earth.
Metabolism started slowing down at 35.... It seems like mine is coming to a halt judging by the growth in my midsection I am unable to shake off...

Oh yes the metabolism thing! I had mine tested when joining a gym and they rated mine that of a 54 year old. I was disgusted in myself. But thankfully the new exercise regime is working.

There's some leeway - basically if you consider 40 to be magical or special in any way you're a millennial. ;)

I don't see it as magical. My parents did though and they are obviously baby boomer types

It took my one mate two years of intense running (marathons) at 35-37 to shake his off. I'm also currently fighting with my boep but it is getting smaller and smaller.

I can say dating in your 40's is a lot easier ;-)

At the end of the day it's just a number - you are only as old as you feel (which makes me 44!)

I have given up on the partying...

My wife turns 29 tomorrow and she has been complaining about the last few years flying by as well... I am sure this is more due to our busy lives.

Just called my one of my best friends (born in 83) a millennial. He was not a happy camper!

I will take your word for it. Maybe I must ask my wife if we should test this observation of yours?

Life is what you make if it. I met a couple who were probably 18 maybe 19, both lived life like somebody in their 40s normally would but both were genuinely happy. As long as you living life in way that makes you happy you shouldn't be worried.

I find that people who don't tend to worry about their age and getting older

" I feel pretty much the same as I did when I was 27".

Pffffft I dare you to go do an evening of heavy partying and report back. Recovery times a loooot longer than at 27

I was checking Takealot the other day looking for a drip to keep at home.
