Shame...

Cape Town - The Desmond and Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation has voiced its support for Israeli Apartheid Week, saying the successful boycotting of apartheid South Africa was indispensable in bringing about its downfall.

“People who are denied their dignity and rights deserve the solidarity of their fellow human beings,” Anglican Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu said on Sunday night.

“Those who turn a blind eye to injustice perpetuate injustice. If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor.

“I have witnessed the racially segregated roads and housing in the Holy Land that reminded me so much of the conditions we experienced in South Africa under apartheid.

“I have witnessed the systemic humiliation of Palestinian men, women and children by members of the Israeli security forces. Their humiliation is familiar to all black South Africans who were corralled and harassed and insulted and assaulted by the security forces of the apartheid government.

“We could not have achieved our democracy without the help of people around the world, who through… non-violent means, such as boycotts and disinvestment, encouraged their governments and other corporate actors to reverse decades-long support for the apartheid regime.”

Tutu said similar injustices were driving the disinvestment movement trying to end Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territory and the prejudicial treatment of the Palestinians by the Israeli government.

“I associate myself with the objectives of the 10th international Israeli Apartheid Week.

“It doesn’t matter where we worship or live. Jew, Muslim, Christian, Buddhist, Sikh, Hindu, atheist, Ramallah, Tel Aviv, Nazareth, Gaza - we are members of one family, the human family, God’s family.”

Israeli Apartheid Week is an international series of events aimed at raising awareness of Israel’s policies and gaining support for the disinvestment and sanctions campaign.

As a Christian I have loyalty to Israel, but I can't claim that they are not as evil a regime as the Palestinians are. At the end of the day, the war for Jerusalem has been prophesied in the Bible and will happen as prophesied.

What verses in particular do you base your loyalty to Israel on?

Sounds like a marvel movie in the making.

Who wins at the end?

And I bet tutu welcomes China with open arms..or in other words **** Tibet and anyone elses human rights China squashes.
And when is Saudi Arabia apartheid week, open discrimination in that hell hole.

Maybe let me explain what I mean by loyalty. I mean that the Bible is specific that Israel has been given by God to the Hebrew descendants of Israel (Jacob). This is reflected everywhere in the Torah.

However I find the regime to be as worse as the regimes they are fighting against, in terms of treatment of exiles and their Jewish brothers of Ethiopian descendency.

Uhhhh... Tutu has spoken out numerous times against the Dalai Lama being rejected a visa.

Yeh, I suppose air lifting the whole community of Ethiopian Jews and resettling and housing them at the Israeli tax payers expense is just not good enough, almost as bad as the Turks and Iraqis Genocide of the Kurdish people.

Granted!

wow, much protest, no visa

mwhahahahahhahaha

Erm, the issue is not a visit by the lama, rather his non protest against the conquest of Tibet and the brutal squashing by China of any Tibetan opposition.

woooosh, right over your head.

Any word from the dear archbishop on the 400 000 Palestinians who live in “appalling social and economic conditions” (Human Rights Watch's words) and who are not legally allowed to work in Lebanon, or the thousands of Palestinians who are being treated like vermin and starved in and by Syria? No? Not a peep? Didn't think so. Hypocrites gonna hypocrite.

You do realise that there are other large groups of "Christians" who don't agree with that theory and that they believe Israel lost their inheritance of the land because of sin.
There are many places in the prophetic literature which indicate that Israel had sinned and would lose the promises given to them....
