Ths "Luckily........[fill in the blanks]" is a self justification for apathy. Adding to the scenario with an even more Grim picture just dilutes the fact she was attacked in HER OWN HOUSE... She is fortunate to be ok, but she is no-where near lucky.

Its not tolerable. Why should people live in secure complexes with Rotewilers / guns / security guards.. and STILL get attacked.

As I said, she is fortunate to be alive, but luck has nothing to do with it..... She would not have been attacked in the first place if it was for 'Luck'. What did their neighbors say? "Luckily it wasnt us!"

i couldn't agree more... well said Ricard and MacNabs!

if only everyone in this country would wake up to these facts and stop (inadvertently) making victims feel "lucky".
 
She apparently locked herself in the bathroom when she managed to untied herself ... her parents found her there when they popped in, they were worried because she wasn't answering her phone. Tells me it was very traumatic because first reaction should have been to go to the neighbours and ask for help not hide away.

I do realise that... just the attack happened in Northcliff..Johannesburg.. Gauteng :D Just didnt see the relevance of CPT in this topic :cool:
