TV on the Internet taking off

It's been a long time coming but television on the Internet appears finally to be taking off, opening up a new viewing experience for free and helping to fight online piracy.

The cost of running the sites, however, is very high due to the heavy bandwidth.

Not just the sites, the poor sod in SA trying to watch internet TV too.

Not gonna happen anytime soon.

Saw an interview with some dude from the sector a few months ago. He said that to stream Desperate Housewives to all its regular viewers in decent quality, they'd need about 12x the current internet infrastructure. And thats just one show to a few hundred thousand people...
