Twisp - Electronic cigs

I haven't been using it like a cigarette. I puff on it every now and then, maybe 15-20 times in an hour. Also have you found any tobacco that actually tastes even remotely like the real thing?

Hell no, i hate the taste of cigi's the one awesome thing about the twisp is it has barely any taste to it even though for some reason they punt that is tastes like a cigi, do you like the taste of a cigi?

Ask the guys maybe there was a flavour that tastes the same but i know for me the fact i never smelt like a cigi and never tasted was nice :).

They're awesome gadgets, but I'm still a bit skeptical about spending the money on them.
My folks bought themselves 1 each after 30 years of chain smoking, and it does work! You just buy the e-liquid and re-fill the cartridges. But so far after 2 months they're complaining that the batteries don't hold their charge long enough anymore, and the little LED cap at the bottom has fallen off, making it look a bit fugly. It's worth it though if you're planning to quit entirely, and dispose of it after 2 months.

I've done some research and sourced other suppliers which have them cheaper, and will probably get one in the near future. :)

I purchased the "Dura C" from Twisp, but it packed up after 20 mins of using it. I followed the intructions for battery charging etc. The guy at Twisp said its probably the atomizer that is broken and said he would send me a new one that should have arrived today but it didnt, I just hope this isnt R1000 down the drain (unit & juice) it would be the most expensive cig i've ever had!

I must say that from my initial few puffs that it certainly does give you some nicotine satisfaction.

I can see why overseas it is more cost effective to smoke these with the high tax on cigs, but here not so, and the price of the juice seems expensive (and rare it seems), Twisp apparently sell Janty liquid, and the cost from jantyusa website is about R100. Maybe they have some special labs they send it though or something. From Ruyandirect (a Chinese supplier) for of their juice 30ml is R90.

I must agree with Kasyx that the stats are over-quoted.

No way does one cartridge= 15 cigarettes. Battery life is extremely short and if you drive a lot you really need a car charger. ( try find one at the retailers !! )

But I also agree with Killadoob - don't smoke them like a cigarette, and the taste is far preferable to that of a cigarette.

Add to that the lack of toxins, the sociably acceptable vapour and the lack of yellow fingers and filthy ashtrays and it's a no brainer.

I must admit, this is the first day I have gone without a cigarette (only my Twisp Mini) in a couple of months, and I still find myself sitting here craving an actual cigarette. It has nothing to do with the nicotine, it is just the taste of it. Though their website says otherwise, Twisp tastes NOTHING like a cigarette. This is unfortunate because, honestly, one of the main reasons I smoke is because I ENJOY THE TASTE OF IT.

Yea kas i think you went into this poorly bud. You have gone into this wanting a cigi, why did you purchase something other than a cigi if your not interested in kicking the habit? I bought the twisp because i was sick oft he taste, the smoke, the ash. I looked at a cigi as being a nictoine delivery system and when you crave a cigi your in fact craving nicotine so the twisp worked very well for me.

Most people who buy this product are looking to get away from the whole cigi thing you seem to want the cigi.

I also feel twisp should stop saying it tastes like the real thing and they should also offer a better warranty i mean 3 months FFS, what kind of faith do they have with that?

Killa I'd have to back you on that one.
I'd get an e-cig because I drive a lot and it'll give me something to do.

I quit cold turkey last year and it lasted 6 months, so I don't believe it quitting aides, but I love smoking, it's social aspect and the feeling of inhaling it. I hate the smell, the toxins and the morning caugh. :) But yet, here I am again - a smoker -duh!

Yea i am in the same boat sort of, bought the twist stopped cigi's for a week, quit cold turkey for 3 months could not take the moods and now i am smoking again.

Thing is with the twisp when your not out socially you can enjoy it, sure socially smoke cigi's but with the twist when you on your own you can cut back on the cigi, it's all about your mind if you look at smoking as a way to get nicotine the twisp is perfect if you enjoy smoking the twisp will be a waste of money, enjoyment from cigi comes from nicotine anything above that is your mind playing games with you that you enjoy cigi's i think, sure you get guys who actually enjoy the taste of a cigi but i don't.

Maybe I did go into this the wrong way, but I was merely following the bull**** spewed at me on Twisp's website: Cheaper, same taste, same feel, etc.

False advertising if you ask me. Sure it is an exceptionally good product for smokers looking for a new nicotine delivery system, they just mustn't market the damn thing as the cheaper, healthier version of a cigarette.

Hey killa! Partly because of your enthusiastic endorsement of the twisp :D I bought myself one today. The battery has just completed its first charge, so I been able to take my first few puffs a few minutes ago.

DAMN! This is a fantastic gadget. I'm getting the satisfaction of having a "smoke" and now I'm allowed to stay inside the house while getting my nic fix! :)

Some questions: are the little cartridges re-fillable? Do I place a few drops in them? How many? Or is it better to place a drop (one drop?) on the little silver goodie thingamy whatsit instead?

Yea man you can try refilling the cartridges but i found it leaked a lot so when i sucked on it it went on my lips, i used one drop on the atomiser everytime i needed my fix. Remember to keep both batteries charged so when one runs out you have another ready to go.

I actually refill my cartridge, mine doesnt leak unless I over fill it. The "white" cig models tend to leak, i'm using the "Dura C". I usually dont let my cartridge run dry (to preserve atomizer life) and just refill it now and then - 2 - 3 drops seem to do it until it gets moist enough.

It seems to be hit and miss as to when the cartridge is completely finished, from what ive read, when the juice doesnt soak in so well, the atomizer wick has pushed down the fibres or you start getting a bad taste.

I've heard that dripping on the atomizer is a bit harsh, in comparison to using the carts, not sure how true that is but i've been quite happy using the carts.

No i found dripping it on the atomizer was better, more smoke more satisfaction hehe, different strokes though :)

As from this morning I'm using the Twisp. Wish me luck all. Tastes quite nice mmmmmmm.

mini

i find that the best way to refill the mini carts is to pop out the inner cartridge by pushing a pin through the small hole of the mouthpiece. this pushes it out and then add a couple of drops and then pop it back in. this way no liquid in my mouth .................give it a try

Will you be able to smoke this on planes and no smoking areas?

I have just flown from Cape Town to France on Emirates - and I had my twisp. I didn't try blatantly smoking the thing, as some will think its the real deal. But I "smoked" in the toilets - the alarm never went off (ofcourse, it's not smoke, but vapour). And I stole the occasional puff in my sleep and blew down. No problem at all.

The e-cig ain't bad - it's like a light cigarette. I reckon my smoking has cut in half.

I just find it difficult sometimes to find the cartridges. The pharmacies around here are forever out of stock.

You and everyone else - Tygervalley in CT hasn't got a single Twisp item.

It's becoming a problem.

I also need a new atomiser as mine has packed up - must check the warranty.

Yeah its in Tygervalley that I usually buy them. They never seem to have stock. I think I might just start my own Twisp filter business. lol.
