Need some advice here- I have trenched from a DP to my garage (+- 15 metres)- Telkom twisted pair in- waiting for the install of the indoor extension.
From my garage to my second floor is roughly 20 metres. I am unsure if I should pull the black twisted pair into my second floor and share wirelessly or have a 1GB ethernet run from the garage to the second floor and share wirelessly from there. Which scenario would incurr the least ammount of loss in speed or does the distance covered make no difference?

(So the indoor extension would either be in the garage or in the house. From the garage an ethernet would join into the house , if from the house it would go straight into a wireless N modem)

Ethernet is nice because it can actually regenerate and re-time the signal at every switch, but the distances you are talking about is short enough for you not to have any issues with the Telkom twister pair cable. That cable is probably running for kilometres before reaching your house. What difference will another 20 meters make to that?

Always keep the telkom copper as short as possible and avoid connecting different size copper ,the possibility exists that you will cause a unbalanced line or reflections on the ADSL.(Telkom call this metallic noise)
